Salesmanship Class Opens at Fullerton Opening of a new course in salesmanship and merchandising Youth Denies Theft, Pleads Gullity Anyway Robert Carroll, 21; 613 Philadelphia street, yesterday apparently wanted to get in jail pretty badly. City Judicial Frank Tausch accommodated him by sentencing him to six months. Carroll was arrested at o'clock yesterday morning and charged with theft of a blower owned by E. C. Taylor, 424 Olive street. Carroll denied the theft, but pleaded guilty and way because "it would take too long to try the case." He also accused arresting officers lying when they reported seeing the youth on the bicycle after that he tried to escape by running away. Pictures of Orange county Legion officials and information regarding the various posts will be contained in the booklets. Nude Swimmers at Beach Town Fined City Judge W. A. Leonard of Corona Del Mar is opposed to persons swimming in the nude in that community. He fined Anson Hamner of Santa Ana and Glen Bouslog of Fullerton each $50 when they pleaded guilty to indecent exposure early this week. The two youths were arrested with two others, both juveniles. They assertedly had been swimming nude during daylight. Geese are used as "watchdogs" around homes in the West Indies. Michael Crotty director. The course is designed to benefit persons now employed in sales work, or those desiring sales positions, Crotty said. Former Fullerton Resident is Killed Robert Mulligan, 24, of Los Angeles, former Fullerton resident, was one of two young men killed in an auto accident near Upland last Friday when a car driven by John Holme, 28, of Fullerton overturned. The other victim was Louis H. Chambles, 32, of Los Angeles. Holme and Robert Preston, 22, Los Angeles, a fourth passenger in the machine, were injured. Supervisors Grant Approval for Pier Approval by the board of supervisors of Seal Beach's proposed $101,000 municipal pier was granted Tuesday. Approval by the supervisors was required before army engineers would grant final permission to build the pier. Seal Beach plans on a 45 per cent PWA grant to obtain part of the funds. Santa Fe Discloses Gain in Net Income Santa Fe's net railway operating income for August was $2,151,442 according to a statement released by President S. T. Bledsoe this week. This is an increase of $1,312,319 over August last year. Gross for the system was $13,-982,167, a decrease under August of 1037, of $654,972 or 4.47 per cent. Bridge Contract is Let by Supervisors County supervisors last Friday awarded a $134,000 contract to partial construction of a railroad bridge near Prado damsite. Persons and Hollingsworth, Los Angeles was low bidder on the bridge job. The contract calls for the project to be completed within 12 days. The flood control district will pay for the work, which consists of constructing piers and abutments over which the San Fe will lay a superstructure and tracks.
