LUKASKY MASSAGE PARLOR Marine Event at Newport Lauderdale A 1938 Pacific Coast record entry of yachts that race on open ocean waters was scored in Newport Harbor's recent second annual race week, Secretary Larry Heseman of Newport Harbor Yacht Club revealed this week. Top day in the race week program brought 72 craft, in nine classes, into action, racing over a series of open ocean courses laid off Balboa pier. The new fixture on the Compton thian sailing log was credited to one boat journal as "the most spontaneous regatta yet." The record marked the second claimed in 1938 competition in Newport-Balboa. Earlier the season of 73 little 12-foot Snowbirds in the third annual "Snowbirds Flight", set a new American record for number of craft setting in one class in a single race. Both of the sailing feature have become established as nationally rated fixtures in your racing, according to Commodore Sherley B. Meserve of Newport Harbor Yacht club. These and a third allied fixture the Newport Harbor Amateur swim which this year lured entries, have been affixed in the annual master calendar of southwest marine sports activity. Gas Trap is Placed on Beach Oil Well Danger of fire from a Huntington Beach oil well which blew casing Friday night is believed to past. Employees of the Don Dunlap company early this week placed a gas trap on the well. When the casing was blowing crude oil tank broke and poured out over the ground, creasing the fire hazard. Police said the well had been producing, but the casing was forated Thursday in an effort increase production. The well located near Delaware and Springfield streets. The state commission's hand now are tied at least until September 12 by litigation begun by Gordon Booth, oil operator,lowing opening of bids last Thursday. He filed a suit demanding an order to show cause why commission should not be strained from issuing a contrie on grounds the method of bidder was unfair. If Booth's suit fails, the city mediately will bring the successful bidder into court to shcause why he should not pay city a consideration for the driving privilege. Edward Wees Held to Answer Charges Preliminary hearing on newgent homicide charges was waived this week by M. Edward Wees Fullerton and he was held to answer in superior court. Wees is accused as the result of an accident in Fullerton more than two weeks ago which othe life of Mrs. Martha E. Hardard, 83-year-old invalid.
