SOCIETY CLUBS Temples Mark 50th Anniversary Taking advantage of the fact that all of their 11 children could be together at this time more conveniently than on December 20, the actual date, Mr. and Mrs. Albert H. Temple chose last Sunday to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary. More than 50 persons, all immediate relatives, gathered at the Temple home on Ball road for the occasion. During the morning music and entertainment was furnished by the various members of the family. Just before a noon dinner was served the 11 children were requested to line up and draw numbers. They then went to a bedroom and were presented with quilts with numbers corresponding with the ones drawn. These quilts were all hand-made by Mrs. Temple. Following an old family custom, the group was called to the dinner table by Mrs. Temple blowing her father's old hunting horn. After dinner the immediate family came to Anaheim and had photographs taken; after which an hour was spent in Anaheim city park discussing childhood days. It was the first reunion of the entire family since 1923. Mr. and Mrs. Temple were married December 20, 1888, in Jackson Parish, Louisiana. They have lived in California for 26 years and have 28 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Their children are James B. Porter Honored Friday Members of the family participated in a quiet celebration of the 90th birthday anniversary of B. F. Porter at the Porter residence on Orangethorpe avenue last Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Porter, who have been spending summer days at their Newport Beach cottage, Friday came to the old homestead on Orangethorpe avenue for the occasion. Mr. and Mrs. Porter, who plan to observe their 70th wedding anniversary next April, came to the Orangethorpe avenue property in the fall of 1870, driving their wagons and stock from Jacumba in San Diego county where they arrived after a transcontinental journey by covered wagon in 1869. When they settled on the ranch which has been their home for 68 years, the Porters found Anaheim only a small settlement, larger, however, than Los Angeles. There was no Fullerton. Sixteen children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Porter of whom 10 are now living. Only members of the family joined the celebration Friday that marked the reaching of the four score and 10 years as the head of the family.
