A GREAT HOTEL IN A GREAT CITY FROM $250 New Lake Formed In Moutain Area A new lake created this year in the ever-popular San Bernardino mountains already is "grown up." Full to the brim and flowing over the spillway of the new earth-fill dam is Lake Gregory in Houston Flats between Crestline and Vallev of the Moon. Motor travelers thus have a new sight to see one and one-fourth miles north and slightly east of Crestline, reports the touring bureau of the Automobile Club of Southern California. Cradled in wooded hills, the 95-acre reservoir is unique in that both the 115,000 cubic-yard dam and filled lake were created within a year. The $260,987 project was a works progress administration job for the Crest Forest county water district. A rebuilt road extends around the north side and across the dam, connecting Cresilline and Arrowhead Highlands on the Rim of the World route. Surfaced to the lake on each side, it is a graded road in good shape around the reservoir at present, but oiling of this section is being planned, the automobile club is advised. The new lake will be entirely open to the public, although all of the usual recreational facilities have not yet been provided. It will center a major recreational region in an area which already attracts more visitors than any other national forest in the state. It lies 4520 feet above sea level. The lake was named for Arthur Gregory, founder of the project. From 2 to 4 years is the average Internship. INTERNSHIP TWO TO FOUR YEARS During Internship the Doctor visits patients between calls of attending Physician, acts in emergencies, keeps patients comfortable and assists in operations or wherever a second Physician is needed, but does nothing on his own initiative. This very valuable training under older and more experienced Doctors is highly concentrated practice. Each two years of Internship is about equivalent in experience to five years of private practice. Deeded Property Held Redeemable That property which was deeded to the state on July 1, can still be redeemed by the owners of record, is being pointed out by County Auditor W. T. Lambert in an effort to correct a wrong impression held by many persons. "Property which is 'sold' by the tax collector, is merely reported to the state when the first failure to pay taxes is made. That is, if there are unpaid taxes on June 30, the property goes to a tax sale. But it is not until five years later that this property is deeded to the state. "But even deed property may still be redeemed by the owner. There is no additional expense to him by reason of the deed. When it is redemmed, the auditor's office files with the recorder an instrument which publishes to the public that the property has been redeemed. The state is also informed." Its growth has kept pace with the advance of the citrus industry in southern California and Arizona, but it has clung to the policy of maintaining the feeling of unity between growers, packing associations and marketing organizations which it feels is essential to the successful operation of a cooperative. The organization has more than 175 direct sales representatives in all parts of the world, which enables it to reach the secondary markets as well as those in the large cities. The sole purpose of MOD is to market to the best possible advantage the citrus fruits grown in southern California and Arizona. Ordinary people didn't use a butter knife in the old days.
