Becomes Bride of
Robert S. Farrar
At the marriage Tuesday night of Miss Evelyn Naomi Hilgenfeld to Robert Stanley Farrar of Santa Ana, the bride's father, Rev. Samuel F. Hilgenfeld, retired Congregational nunister, both gave her in marriage and read the wedding service. About 300 relatives and friends witnessed the ceremony in Bethel Baptist church, followed by a reception in the church parlor.
For her wedding gown, the bride wore princess-style white slipper satin with an Elizabethan-type stand-up collar of lace similar to that banding the end of the train. She wore the same orange-blossom-trimmed cap and illusion veil of net which her sister, Leona, wore last September for her marriage to Harvey C. Nunn of Glendora. White satin streamers fell from the bride's bouquet of white roses, lilies of the valley, stephanotis, sweet peas and orchids. The bride's mother wore beige lace with white accessories and the bridegroom's mother, Mrs. Jennie M. Farrar of Los Angeles, wore rose lace with blue accessories.

Conservatory Presents Recital
Students of the Anaheim Conservatory of Music presented a varied recital last evening at the Melrose Abbey chapel. Teachers whose pupils took part included Mrs. Anna Siegel, director and instructor of piano and languages; Olga Steeb, pianist; Estelle Seabourn, voice; and Vladimir Lenski, violin.
Piano selections were offered by Grace Wischnack, Irwin North, Beverly Fick, Billie Kellogg, Josephine Pollard, Mary Louise Buffreta, Janet Wheaton, Jack Booher, James Stewart, Alberta Wischnack and Mildred Partney.
Students violinists included Embert Smalley, Charme, Zedaker, Virginia Casey, Beverly Hansen, Frank Kellogg, David Wischnack, George Kelley, Bahara Clough, Ruth Ellen Taylor, Marie Clark, Naomi Fredricksen and John Hart Stout. A violin duet was played by Calvin and Loisteene Stewart. Accompanists were Mr. Lenski, Alberta Wischnack, Mrs. F. J. Taylor and David Craighead, organist.
Jackie Booher was the vocal soloist and Mrs. A. P. Stewert, soprano, and Max Trabant tenor, offered a vocal duet.
Lillian Trapp Tells Date of Wedding
September 4 has been set as the date of the marriage of Miss Lillian Trapp, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Trapp, Jr., of Riv Vista avenue, to Homer Davis on Redondo Beach, it was announced at a party given at the Trapp home last Friday evening.
Games of "500" were played during the evening with prizes being awarded to Miss Mildred Cordes, Mrs. Vernon Shulz and Mrs. Dillard Wilkerson.
Those invited for the evening were Mrs. Cecil Johnson of Redondo Beach; Mrs. Moss Davis or Laguna Beach; Mrs. Ben Davis; Mrs. Herb Davis; Mrs. Harler Wold; Mrs. Dillard Wilkerson; Mrs. William Trapp, Jr.; Miss Marian Gragg, Miss Metha Boual; Miss Lucille Eltisle; Miss Evely Brunsworth; Miss Eunice Winger; Miss Mildred Cordes; Miss Mildred Trapp and Miss Helen Trapp, or Anaheim.
Viola Schryer and Philip Adams Wed

The flower girls, Sylvia and Geraldine Farrar, nieces of the bridegroom wore wreaths of pink roses in their hair and scattered rose petals along the aisle. Sylvia's dress was pink; organdy and Geraldine's was orchid orgyd.
Leslie M. Farrar was the best man and Robert Hillginson, Melvin D. Hilgenfeld, Everett C. Granere and Harvey C. Nunn were ushers.
Musie was provided by Los Schroeder, organist; Mrs. Neil Campbell, soloist; and Lella Brown and Margaret Hein, violinists.
Attending at the reception were Miss Margaret Hilgenfeld and her fiance, Ernest Rudies, and Miss Alma Ruth Show, Mrs. Martha Church-of McPherson, Kans., Mrs. William R. Fischer, Miss Ruth Eschbach, Miss Elizabeth Earl, Mrs. Louis Dunn, Mrs. Harvey Garver, Mrs. Howard Pannier, Miss Wilma Luhring, Miss Beryl Berry and Miss Thelma Zimmerman, Miss Frances Hilgenfeld baked the bride's cake, decorated by Everett Granere.
The bride, who was graduated from Broadoaks School of Education in Pasadena, has completed two years as teacher in the Fountain Valley school near Huntington Beach. She previously was a teacher in a private kindergarten on the Makawell plantation on the island of Kauai, Hawaii. The bridegroom, vice-principal of Santa Ana high school, received the bachelor's degree at the University of Idaho and took his masters degree in history at the University of Southern California. Both are members of national honorary scholastic fraternities.
Upon their return late in August from a honeymoon trip to Oregon Washington state and British Columbia, the couple will reside in Santa Ana.
Gifts Exchanged at Sorority Meeting
Gifts were exchanged by "mystery pals" at a meeting of Eta Gamma chapter of Kappa Delta Phi sorority Monday night at the home of Mrs. Wray Pomeroy on North Olivo street.
Plans were made for a combined party for guests and a welcome to three delegates who will return this week end from the national convention this week, in Chicago IL. The party will be held next Monday evening at the home of Mrs. Arnold Lund, North Palm street.
Convention delegates from whom messages were read last night, are Mrs. Kate Williams of Paherton; Eta Gamma chapter president, and Miss Margery Patrick and Miss Charlotte Price of Anaheim.
Mrs. Pomeroy served coffee, cake and ice cream at card tables and used pansies and peach-colored gladiolus for flower arrangements. Other members present were Mrs. Howard E. Maxwell, Mrs. Fred Nunlist, Mrs. Ralph Ferguson, Miss Elleen Muchow and Mrs. Lund.
Viola Schryer and Philip Adams Wed

Before the ceremony, Joe Cummings of Brea sang "I Love You Truly," accompanied at the piano by Mrs. LeRoy Mills.
Attendants of the bride were her sister, Miss Marie Schryer, a maid of honor, Miss Diana Huffman of Anaheim, Miss Jerry Seel of Santa Aph and Miss Haroldin Hayes of Orange, as bridesmaids Ralph Summers of Anaheim served as best man and the usher were Arval Triplett of Anaheim Floyd Findley of Los Angeles and Richard Gregg of Orange.
A reception was held after the wedding with Mrs. R. S. Summer pouring punch. The bide's cake was served by the bridesmaids.
The now Mrs. Adams was graduated from Anaheim union high school with the class of 1935 and is now manager of the Bell clearers. They will make their hom in Anaheim following a wedding trip to San Diego.
V. F. W. Auxiliary
Names Delegates
Delegates to the national encampment of the V. F. W. auxiliary to be held at Columbus, Ohio, next month from the Anaheim auxiliary will be Mrs. Agnes Hund and Mrs. Bessie Poetz. They were selected at a meeting of the auxiliary last Thursday evening at the IOOF hall. Mrs. Bertha Schrott and Mrs. Opal Walters were chosen alternates.
Mrs. Hund was also named chairman of the committee to work with the V. F. W. post in the sale of fireworks here. Refreshments were served by the June committee comprising Mrs. Hund, chairman, Mrs. Mary Hund, Mrs. Cecil Carr and Mrs. Poetz.

June Trapp Tells of Wedding
October 4 has been set as the marriage of Miss Lillippe, daughter of Mr. and William Trapp, Jr., of Rio Grande, to Homer Davis of Beach, it was announced today given at the Trapp at Friday evening.

June Malmstrom Hostess at Party
Celebrating her graduation from Anaheim union high school, Miss June Malmstrom was hostess last week end at a Wiener bake in Hillcrest park and dancing at the home of her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Dell Malmstrom, at Orange, Miss Malmstrom was assisted by her mother, Mrs. Josephine Malmstrom, and Mrs. Dell Malmstrom.

Three Honored at Steak Bake
Combining a birthday party for Mrs. E. M. Schlotter and a Father's day party for Dr. T. A. Miller and E. M. Schotter, a group of relatives and friends of the honored guests gathered at the city park Sunday afternoon for a steak bake. Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Miller and Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Elliott were hosts and hostesses.

Cottons Leave for Manila
Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Cotton and small son left San Francisco today on board the transport Grant en route to Manila where Mr. Cotton, an army warrant officer, is stationed for the next two years.
Mrs. Cotton, the former Evelyn Polhemus, is a native of Anaheim and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dean Polhemus at whose home she and her husband have been guests for several weeks.

Miss Margaret Carlin was host at a shower given last Thursday evening at her home on Descent road in honor of Miss Anne Hein. The honored guest to be married on June 29 to Steph Weaver. The hostess was visited by her mother, Mrs. H. G. Carlin.
Several games were played during the evening with prizes being awarded to Miss Lella Brown and Miss Lillian Gust.

MOTORS STOLEN
Two motorcycles, owned by Clifford Hobson and James Kelly, both of 408 Oak street, were stolen from that address Monday. It was reported to Anaheim police.
Callion tour of Europe. Thomas H. Glenn, head of the English department at Santa Ana Junior college, is directing the tour.
The troupe will take the "grand circle" tour, including eight foreign countries. Nations to be visited are France, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Czechoslovakia, Germany, Holland and England.
Club Holds First of Dance Series
The first of a series of summer dances was held last evening at St. Boniface parish hall under the sponsorship of the St. Boniface Youth club. It is planned to conduct the dances regularly during the summer months.
Henry Plou was chairman of the committee in charge of arrangements. Others on the committee include Joe Heinz, Louise Ann Truxaw, Beatrice Gregor, Angela Callens and Kathleen Burkhard.
Nine Noel Coward Plays are Slated
Nine short plays, corralled under the theatregoing title of "Tonight at 8:30", and from the versatile typewriter of Noel Coward, fill the two week's period at the Pasadena Community playhouse, June 13th to June 25th, with a full range of moods.
Sudden laughter, a touch of bitters, the sparkle of Coward-ish wit, notes of his music and a full gauntlet of Dramatic delicacies are set against nine equally varied backgrounds in the nine short but complete plays.
They have whitewashed greenhouse windows in the winter for years. A liquid for similar purposes in industrial buildings admits over 90 per cent of the sunlight as diffused light.
Protection to pedestrians is provided at a large garage by a photocell cell which, when a car approaches the door on its way out, sounds a horn and lights a red light outside the entrance.
