The social at Mrs. Grimshaw's Tuesday evening was an enjoyable affair. Music and games were indulged in and a pleasant feature was the selling of lunch baskets as each lady provided suitable provisions to be purchased by the gentlemen at the rate of twenty-five cents per basket, and who was obliged to invite the lady whose card was among the edibles to lunch with him. The money so collected was to go towards the purchase of a bell for the Presbyterian church. We noticed nearly all of Anaheim's best citizens, and altogether it was a very pleasant entertainment and a profitable one for the cause.
At the meeting of the Anaheim Water company, held last Saturday, Messrs. McFadden and Hunter were appointed a committee to present the company's views to the Board of Supervisors in regard to the Wright irrigation bill.
