Vagrant sentenced to 15 Days in Jail Arrested when he attracted suspicion by attempting to pass checks to two Anaheim merchants, James H. Sumpter, 40, of Long Beach was charged Friday with vagrancy. Neither merchant accepted the proffered check. Sumpter was arraigned before City Judge Frank Tausch Saturday morning and sentenced to the county jail for 15 days after pleading guilty to the charge. There are other signs of old age, but none more certain than the habit of telling strangers about your ailments.
