Woman's Club Committees Are Selected
The Buena Park Woman's club open for the new year on October 17 with Mrs. C. W. Hl heading a staff of officers which includes Mrs. E. W. Thurman, first vice-president; Mrs. Anne Couts, second vice-president; Mrs. L. H. Tanquary, reading secretary; Mrs. J. F. Greenawalt, treasurer; Mrs. Eleore Jones, corresponding secretary; Mrs. I. D. Jaynes, Mrs. George Cole, Mrs. Henry Warren, Ms. Edward Marxen, and Mrs. George Trapp, trustees.

80th Anniversary Of W.P.Webb Is Celebrated
William P.Webb,Sr., was honored Monday evening by members of his family and friends at the Anaheim city park in commemoration of the 80th birthday anniversary.Featuring the picnic supper was a large birthday cake on which candles formed the figure 80.
Mr.Webb has been a resident of Anaheim 35 years,which is also the home of Mr. and Mrs.Webb's six children.
Children and grandchildren who attended the event are Mr.Irene Webb,Mr.andMrs.Mrs.Lamont Webb,Ealine Webb,Mr.andMrs.Clyde Webb,Tommy andJimmie Webb,Mr.andMrs.W.P.Webb Jr.,NancyJoan and MaryWebb,Mrs.Blanch Shaffer,JaneJack and Juliana Shaffer,Mr.andMrs.Stephen Shaffer,Miss Margaret Allen,Mr.andMrs.Darrol Webb and Lee Webb.

Heinze-Paulsen Wedding is Recent Event
The wedding chapel in Santa Ana was the scene early Saturday evening of the wedding of Miss Frieda Heinze,daughter of Mr.andMrs.E.E Heinze of Anaheim,and Rudolph Paulsen,son of Mrs.C.Paulsen of Long Beach.The service was read by the Rev.C.H.S.Hunizker of the Anaheim Grace Lutheran church.
Only immediate members of the families attended.Miss Marlene Bonter of Anaheim was maid of honor.
The young couple will visit relatives of Mr.Paulsen in Colorado for two weeks before establishing their home on Nicklett avenue,Fullerton.
The new Mrs.Paulsen graduated from Anaheim high school and later attended Fullerton junior college.She received her teaching credentials from San Jose state college and for the past four years taught in Anaheim.
Mr.Paulsen attended schools in Long Beach and the University of Southern California.His employed by a Fullerton bank.

Instructors Added To Jaysee Faculty
Three new instructors have been added to the faculty of Santa Ana Junior college, according to announcements made this week by D. K. Hammond, director.
Blanchard Beatty has been assigned the position of assistant physical education instructor; Norman Hicks will conduct classes in radio electricity and Harold Moomaw will teach surveying and mechanical drawing.

Junior Ebell Group Has Steak Bake
Members of the child study section of the Junior Ebell club and their husbands participated in a steak bake at the Anaheim city park last Saturday evening which was followed by games of badminton and ping-pong at the Anaheim community center.
Present were Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Kuenzli, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hatfield, Jr., Mr. and Mrs. John Dunn, Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Harman, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Glover, Mr. and Mrs. Marion Forst, Mr. and Mrs. Fayette Bircher, James Shankland and Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Boysen, who were special guests.
D. A. R. Official To Attend Council Meeting
The visit to Southern California of Mrs. William A. Becker of New Jersey, president general, National Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, has stimulated wide-spread interest in the southern district council meeting and luncheon of that group at which Mrs. Becker will be the honor guest and speaker. The meeting will be Friday, Sept. 11, at 10:30 o'clock at the Ambassador hotel in Los Angeles with Mrs. W. H. Hodge, state vice reagent, presiding.
In the morning, Mrs. Becker will discuss various phases of the work of the society, and state chairmen will present detailed descriptions of their activities in California.
Mrs. Becker will address the luncheon group, stressing the training of youth in the principles of true Americanism. Preceding Mrs. Becker, a program of songs will be given by Mrs. Murray Johnson, accompanied by Mrs. Boardman, and Mrs. Frank E. Lee of Santa Monica chapter will sponsor a fashion show, the commissions on garments sold to be donated to the D. A. R. Neighbor-

Paulsen Day is Event
Reports given At Meeting Of W. R. C.
Reports of committee activities were made at Tuesday's meeting of the A. B. Paul Woman's Relief Corps No. 134 in the Odd Fellows hall. It was reported that 33 calls were made, $26 expended for child welfare, $29.40 for relief and that eight bouquets and one spray were purchased.
Mrs. Elizabeth Burkhead from Santa Ana W. R. C. was a guest at the meeting.
At the close of the business session refreshments were served by Mrs. Dora McCracken and Elizabeth Ray.
Ice Cream Social Planned by Church Group
The Conquest class of the Calvary Baptist church will hold an ice cream social tomorrow (Friday) evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Dugdale, 804 S. Los Angeles street, it was announced today.
A hillbilly orchestra from Santa Ana will provide entertainment throughout the evening, it was said.
Mrs. Homer Nelson Hostess at Luncheon, Bridge
Mrs. Homer Nelson was hostess last Thursday to a luncheon given at her home on North Lemon street for her bridge club of Huntington Park and several Anaheim friends. Luncheon was served on bridge tables.
Mrs. O. C. Branyon of Long Beach and Mrs. L. Drake of Huntington Park were prize winners in the bridge games.
Guests included Mrs. R. N. Ashley and Mrs. Ralph Seward of Anaheim, Mrs. Clara Wilson, Fullerton; Mrs. Fred Fudge, Mrs. Holly Glick, Mrs. C. B. Graham, Mrs. Helen Rimple, Mrs. Ethel Wilson, Mrs. Cleo Green and Mrs. R. M. Tweede.
New Post Officers Preside at Session
Headed by Fred Weiler, commander; officers for the new year will be in charge of the meeting of the Buena Park American Legion post tomorrow evening at Memorial hall.

Harriet Chapin, Eugene Anderson Wed
The marriage of Miss Harriet Chapin, daughter of Mr. and Mr. P. N. Chapin of 515 E. Chestnut street, Santa Ana, and Eugene Anderson, son of Mrs. Mann Anderson, 115 E. North street Anaheim, was solemnized Saturday evening in the bride's chapel of the First Methodist church in Santa Ana.
The Rev. George Warmer, pastor of the church, read the service in the presence of more than 100 guests.
The bride was attended by her sister, Mrs. Victor Fleming, as matron of honor. Victor Fleming acted as best man with R.Kirk and Lambert Jones of Anaheim as ushers.
The new Mrs. Anderson is graduate of Santa Ana high school and junior college and is affiliated with the Sigma Tau Pso sorority of that city.
Mr. Anderson graduated from Anaheim high school and is employed by the Weber Baking company. The couple will make their home in Santa Ana.
