Young People's FIRST CHURCH OF CHRIST SCIENTIST (Christian Science) 125 North Philadelphia The verse from Isiah: "There is no peace, saith the Lord, unto the wicked," is the Golden Text in the Lesson-Sermon on "Everlasting Punishment" on Sunday in all branches of The Mother Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Mass. The Lesson-Sermon includes these words of Jesus, from the Gospel of Luke: "Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a pubican. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican ... And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for every one that exalteth himself shall be abashed; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted." Advises Keep Car Finish in Good Condition A new looking car is good economy, according to the Willets and Hochull Duco Paint shop at 327 South Los Angeles street. "An automobile, like any other property deteriorates if it is not kept up." George Willets, co-owner of the plant says. "Your car is no different from your home in that respect. "Experience has shown that it is true economy to keep your car painted. Just as a good refinishing job goes a long way toward conserving the car, so, conversely, it has been found that a lack of paint goes a long way toward bringing about deterioration. Touching up parts that need paint, even if a complete job is not done, will prevent rust and corrosion which are costly to the car owner. "This is one of the real hard times of the year on any car. It has probably had hard service through the months that have just gone by and an examination will show that it is somewhat shy of paint here and there. Even a touch-up job now will go a long way towards saving the metal, if a complete painting, which is always better, cannot be done until later. "If the finish has been scraped or worn from the metal parts, rust will soon set in. Consequently, those worn metal parts should not be neglected, for rust eats its way through metal slowly butposals to be received as follows: First: for all advertising to be done by said city, required by law to be published in a daily newspaper published within said city; Second: for all advertising not required by law to be published in a daily newspaper; Third: for all advertising not required by law to be printed in a daily newspaper, but required by law to be printed each issue for a definite period of time. Bidders shall state in their proposals whether or not such proposals are based upon an estimate for publication of advertising in a daily or weekly newspaper, and shall designate therein the name and address of such newspaper. Each proposal must be accompanied by a certified or cathier's check drawn on a bank within the State of California in a sum not less than Fifty ($50.00) Dollars, payable to the City of Anaheim, the same to become the property of the City of Anaheim if, within ten (10) days after the award of the contract to him, the successful bidder shall fail to enter into a written agreement with said city to furnish said advertising in conformity to said specifications. The City Council reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, or any part of any proposal, and may accept proposals separately for advertising required by law to be published in a daily newspaper, for advertising not required by law to be printed in a daily newspaper, but required by law to be printed each issue for a definite period of time.
