ROMONA PAGEANT INCREASES CAST FOR 1936 PRODUCTION
The Ramona Pageant which is scheduled for its thirteenth annual presentation on the afternoons of Saturday and Sunday, April 18 and 19, April 25 and 26, and May 2 and 3, will employ a greatly augmented cast. In addition to the professional actors necessary for the interpretation of the most important parts and the roster of Hemet and San Jacinto players, fifty additional Indians from nearby reservations will round out a company of 250.
The pageant, as in former years, will be presented in the Ramona Bowl, a natural amphitheatre just outside the city limits of Hemet.

LIVE FOR MEMBERSHIP FOR POST
here I am... I thought you were someone else... and... by the way who is this speaking...?
Why me of course...
O... I give up, whaddayu-want?
Understand the Legion is going to... or maybe I should say is... making a drive for membership... I would like to know just what kinduva machine you're going to use and if it's a gas buggy or just gas or just buggy er what...
Yeah, neither.
Then it must be a horse... o well, we'll just skip that. What's the object of a drive without any reason... or is there a reason?
Sure there's reason... we want 40 more members.
How many, you got now?
We lack just 40 of having enough!
That makes it simple...
Makes what simple?
The whole committee...
Say what is this inquisition anyway?
Just a minute til I look up that word inquisition and I'll maybe be able to tell you... (slight delay and then)... This is no inquisition Ak, it's just an interview for publication... course I don't believe it will ever reach its final stage... but as long as you say you want 40 more members... well maybe it might reach
Gas Discount Arrangements Is Broadened Here
Application of the recently announced discount on gas bills has been broadened so that it will now apply to a much larger number of customers of Southern Counties Gas Company who use natural gas as the principal fuel for cooking, water heating and house heating, according to an announcement by Fred G. Merker, district manager for the gas company.
The announcement was made following the filing of the new schedule with the California Railroad Commission. The rates also apply to the customers of the Los Angeles Gas and Electric Corporation and Southern California Gas Company.
"The discount is now extended," said Merker, "to those customers using non-automatic gas water heaters, and the room and building heating requirements have been liberalized so that only one piece of gas heating equipment is necessary if it provides the principal heating.
"This discount as recently announced," Merker continued, "provides 15 percent off on that portion between $2 and $25 of each monthly gas bill. It is now available, upon application, to all customers whose use of natural gas conforms to the following:
1. Principal cooking requirements supplied by a gas range or stove with built-in oven regardless of number of top burners.
2. Principal water heating requirements supplied by one or..."
The whole committee... Say what is this inquisition anyway?
Just a minute til I look up that word inquisition and I'll maybe be able to tell you... (slight delay and then) ... This is no inquisition Ak, it's just an interview for publication... course I don't believe it will ever reach its final stage... but as long as you say you want 40 more members... well maybe it might reach print... however... I might suggest that you get a hold of a communist organizer and then you'll be all fixed for a drive... just what kinduva drive... well your guess is as good as mine... and then I might suggest that you put the membership board up in Fritz Yungbluth's window so the people may know...
I have already...
Oh. Well then what are you waiting for?
Forty more members.
Is that all?
Ain't that enough?
Well, maybe. But by the way who is this speaking?
Well, it might be Harry Akerman... but it ain't... it's Jim Bouldin at the police station... and who are you?
Well, it might be Mayor Chariey Mann... but it ain't... it's only ME... gooby.
