"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; and the knowledge of the holy is understanding." This verse from the Proverbs is the Golden Text in the Lesson-Sermon on "Mind" on Sunday in all Christian Science churches, branches of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Mass.
A Scriptural citation in the Lesson-Sermon includes these verses from Jeremiah: "Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is... O Lord, the hope of Israel, all that forsake thee shall be ashamed, and they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the Lord, the fountain of living waters. Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise."
One of the correlative passages from the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," by Mary Baker Eddy, states: "If we understood the control of Mind over body, we should put no faith in material means. Science not only reveals the origin of all disease as mental, but it also declares that all disease is cured by divine Mind."

After more than three months of suffering from a nervous attack, Miss Glivar used Dr. Milk Nervine which gave her splendid results that she wrote us an enthusiastic letter.
If you suffer from "Nerves."
If you lie awake nights, start at sudden noises, tire easily, are cranky, blue and fidgety, your nerves are probably out of order.
Quiet and relax them with some medicine that "did the work" for this Colorado girl.
Whether your "Nerves" have troubled you for hours or years, you'll find this time tested remedy effective.

WASHINGTON SNAPSHOTS
Three measures will give the tip-off on how many new entanglements are to be strung in front of business and recovery. They are the new Wheeler-Rayburn bill, which would vest in the Federal Trade Commission powers so broad that they are almost comparable to those held by illegal NRA; the Walsh bill, to give the government control of wages and hours through the weight of governmental spending; the Ellenbogen bill, which would apply to the textile industry the same cost-raising restrictions enforced under the Guffey Coal Act. The Walsh bill slipped through the Senate last year but fell by the way side when the House awakened belatedly to the enormity of the new power the measure would transfer from the legislative to the executive branch. House hearings have been ordered on the Ellenbogen bill with prospects that the Labor Committee will push it if the Administration wants it.
There is a broad feeling on Capitol Hill that the country is at last awake to what continuous spending means in taxation next year and few care to go into the campaign on the spendthrift side of this issue.
As one speaker put it, blessed are the little children for they shall inherit the national debt.
How many times has a Headache ruined your day's work—spoiled your evening's pleasure?
Users of Alka-Seltzer say that Alka-Seltzer gives unusually prompt and effective relief from Headache. Try Alka-Seltzer for Acid Indigestion, Fatigue, Muscular, Rheumatic, and Sciatic Pains.
Alka-Seltzer contains an analgesic (Acetyl-Salicylate) for pain relief. Its vegetable and mineral alkalizers correct the cause when due to excess acid.
At your drug store soda fountain and in 30 and 60 cent packages for home use.
BEWISE-ALKALIZE!
David Lawrence, one of Washington's most able political analysts, describes the new Wheeler-Rayburn bill as giving the Federal Trade Commission "more power than the NRA, more power than the Securities Act, more power than any Federal Trade Commission act or anti-trust law of the past, and more inquisitional rights over the private affairs of the citizen than anything now on the statute books."
