STATE OF CALIFORNIA Ruth Newman, dancer in the Ramona Pageant cast, holding a poster selected to advertise the famous outdoor play, which will be produced for its twelfth season at Hemet Saturday and Sunday afternoons April 27 and 28 and May 1 and 5 and May 11 and 12. HEMET, March 27—Selection of a design by Ted Grohs, San Jacinto artist, for the 1935 Ramona Pageant poster, was announced today by Mrs. Emily Freeman, general manager of the Ramona Pageant Association. The design by Grohs was chosen after more than a score of posters submitted in a contest sponsored by the Ramona Pageant organization had been judged by the poster committee. Grohs is the winner of the contest for the second consecutive year. The poster, which shows the characters Ramona and Alessandro against a San Jacinto mountain background will be distributed throughout California to advertise the twelfth annual Ramona Pageant, to be given at Hemet Saturday and Sunday afternoons April 27 and 28 and May 4 and 5 and 11 and 12. More than 200 players for the cast of the famous outdoor play are now being assembled and rehearsals of the chorus and dance groups have already been started. Leading roles in the production will be taken by widely known professionals of the stage and screen. Many of the principals are veterans of the Ramona Pageant cast and have appeared in every performance during the past 11 years. During this time more than 170,000 people have witnessed the play in the picturesque Ramona Bowl, located at the foot of Mt. San Jacinto. The Ramona play is a non-profit community event, sponsored by the people of Hemet and San Jacinto through their chambers of commerce. Woman Hitch Hiker And Babes Given Aid By City Welfare Hitch hiking by young people is proving a tough assignment nowadays, but for a woman with two babes to care for would prove almost impossible, yet such was the plight of a mother who was discovered on the highway near Anaheim by a man early last Saturday morning and brought to the local police to be given a lodging. One of the children was a babe in arms and the other a little tot of four. The woman told the police that she was on her way to Texas and had been successful in getting this far from Oregon where the trip started. The family was taken to a hotel where accommodations were provided for the night and the bill will be paid by the city welfare department. 3 LINES — 3 TIMES — 3 DIMES Stamp Collectors To Hold Exhibit The Orange County Philatelic Society will have its Third Annual Stamp Exhibit from April 1st to April 6th inclusive at the California Hotel, Fullerton. Bender, Atty., 408 Washington Bldg., Los Angeles, Calif. 3/14/35—4t The "liquid test" ...it ENDS bowel worries for many people This is a test that tells you whether the system needs a cathartic change. If you have constant sluggish snake or bilious attacks, and laxatives seem to make things worse, it would be wise to try this: Stop all use of any laxative that does not encourage variation from a "fixed dose" (which may be entirely too large a dose for your individual need). Use instead, a liquid laxative that you can measure and regulate as to dose. As necessary to repeat, take smaller doses, less and less often, until the bowels are moving without any help at all. Doctors use liquid laxatives, and a properly prepared liquid laxative containing natural laxative agents like senna and cascara is a joy and a comfort; a real help in establishing regularity. Ask your doctor about this! (Doctors use liquid laxatives.) You can get Dr. Caldwell's Syrup Pepsin, which is a most dependable liquid laxative, at any drug store.
