Schneider, lecturer in real estate finance. This supplement brings the correspondence course text up-to-date on the legislative enactments of the last two years covering these matters. The course is also designed to prepare for the state license examination for both salesmen and brokers and to acquaint them with the legal significance of their operations. Call Anaheim Part-time Farming Bulletin Ready at Wahlberg's Office To guide prospective part-time farmers by pointing out some of the takes made in past by misinformation persons, a bulletin on "Part-Time Farming for Income," is available at farm advisor's office, Santa Ana. In the survey which was made, part-time farming was analyzed in two areas: The San Francisco area represented farms located in vicinity of Martinez, Concord, Waite Creek, Alamo, Richmond, Danvale Hayward, Oakland, and San Jose. The southern part of the state the study included part-time farms in Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino Orange counties. More than 60 different products produced by these part-time farmers. The survey lists 157 outside occurrences of part-time agriculturists, including skilled, unskilled, and professional labor. The bulletin stresses how part-time farms should be organized; describes types of farming practiced; and gives many suggestions and recommendations of value to owners and operators of part-time farms. Mother, Daughter Win in Damage Surveys A jury in Superior Judge Homer Ames' court brought in a judgment $8799.20 on Wednesday in favor of Mora D. Morris and her daughter Betty Jessce, for the death of John Morris following an automobile accident on June 30, 1933, at Tustin in Chapman avenues, Orange. The judgment was against Mr. and Mrs. E. French and P. L. Farmer. Reports On SERA Students for Month of October A recent survey of the work done by students at the University of Southern California under the state emergency relief administration program reveals that during the month of October 531 students received aid through part-time work in SERA projects. Various assignments include research activity and laboratory work in which 211 students are engaged under the direction of faculty members, according to statistics from the office of Vice-president Frank C. Touton, director of the SERA project at U. S. C. Research work, clerical and office assistance, library and museum work, laboratory assistance, and special project work are among the activities assigned to students, who earn from $10 to $20 per month. So successful has been the plan to aid university students that government appropriations have been increased 12 per cent over those of last year. 1,674 Persons Earn $18,152 During Week Orange county residents numbering 1,674 received $18,152.65 in SERA wages for the week ending October 25, 1934, according to announcements from SERAdministrator Vernon D. Turkey Growers to Hold Meeting for Prorate Discussion A meeting of representative turkey growers of Southern California is set for 9:30 A.M., December 4, at the Citrus Experiment Station, Riverside. It is called for the purpose of considering the advisability of applying for assistance in the stabilization of their product under the California prorate act. The supply of turkeys to be marketed this season is quite large, which, together with the supply in cold storage, will tend to demoralize the market until the product is marketed in an orderly fashion. Wahlberg. C. E. Lush, Orange, president of the association, assisted by his executive committee, have arranged a complete and informative program of timely subjects covering many of the economic and cultural phases of the honey industry. The agricultural extension service, the Farm Bureau and the chamber of commerce are cooperating with the local committee in making arrangements for the reception and entertainment of the beekeepers while in Orange county. A few of the topics for consideration at the convention include honey standardization, drought relief for the bee-keeper, storage problems, increasing honey consumption, Caucasian vs. Italian bees, queen bee rearing, spray poisoning, marketing problems, bee feeding, cost of production and honey experiments.
