SERA Plan For Relief Announced
(Continued from page 1)
Persons selected for work relief upon approved projects will be summoned by mail.
Persons receiving work relief employment will be permitted to earn their budgetary requirements which will be determined by the state emergency relief administration in cooperation with county relief committees.
The state emergency relief administration will appoint a director for each county. In addition to local administration the county director will cooperate with the board of supervisors and other public officials and with the local relief committee in planning and submitting projects. Projects must be approved by the SERA and should be planned to meet the ability of eligible persons as classified. Women must be given equal opportunity with men for work relief.
Prevailing wages paid upon work relief will be those adopted by the local wage board or in certain instances the county board of supervisors. Sufficient employment will be given those upon work relief to enable them to earn monthly the amount determined as their individual family budgetary allowances.
All governmental units have been urged to provide in budgets now being prepared funds to cover the cost materials and supervision on worthwhile projects for which the total cost including labor cannot be met by local government.
