CALLING ON FRIENDS
Chilly Fischer was in town from Pomona on Tuesday visiting with his mother, Mrs. Clara Fischer, whom he found in the enjoyment of the best of health and spirits. He spent part of the afternoon in looking up old friends and found many of them. In his younger days he was quite a notable baseball player and still takes an interest in the national pastime. He picks St. Louis to be out in front again in the National League this year, and thinks if Bottomly regains his batting eye the club ought to give the Athietics a run for their money.

State park commission plans for the development of the land gift from the Doheny holdings at Capistrano Beach, include the procurement of approximately 180 more acres and extensive landscaping of the Doheny site and other lands to be secured.
This development was revealed Tuesday by S. H. Woodruff of the Dana Point corporation. The state park commissioners, headed by Chairman Henry W. O'Melvyn of Los Angeles, Sunday visited the Doheny park grant, and lunched at Dana Point, where they outlined proposed plans for development.
The 180 acres more would be secured from Dana Point, Doheny and a tri-cornered tract belonging to the Santa Fe railroad. All of the land would be given to the state for park purposes under present plans, while the state would back the palladades 30 feet, create a lagoon under the new railroad bridge, and level the parkside above. The proposed property would have 2600-foot frontage on the ocean, 2500-foot frontage on Ocean boulevard, and front on McKinley avenue, along the line of development for the new Ortega highway project. The original site donated by Doheny comprises 40 acres.

Dairy Marketing Study Completed
By W. M. CORY,
Assistant Farm Advisor
Last year the dairy industry in the Los Angeles area asked the University of California to make a study of the production and consumption of milk in the Los Angeles milk shed, in order that more orderly production and marketing might be brought about.
Dr. Leland Spencer of Cornell University was secured to perform the task as he had had wide experience in making similar studies in the east.
After six months of work this report is now completed and a series of meetings have been arranged by the Agricultural extension service and farm bureau, where producers and distributors may hear Dr. Spencer give his report in person.
The meeting most convenient for Orange county dairymen to attend will be the one scheduled at the Brick Hall in Artesia, 10 A.M., Wednesday, February 4. Owing to the limited time that Dr. Spencer has left, he will give but three personal reports and to give all of the dairymen a chance to hear it,
