Ruth Chatterton comes to the Fox Anaheim Sunday and Monday in the Paramount picture, "The Right To power of power load in installations of less than 5 hp., 200 ft.; for each horsepower of power load in installations of 5 hp, or over, 250 ft."
Goodwill Store In New Location
The Anaheim branch of Goodwill Industries will soon move its store from 1118 North Los Angeles to 333 East Center street and will open its new quarters on January 17. A sale is now being conducted at the old quarters to save removal of as much merchandise as possible.
The change is being made, said W. C. Whealy, that the store may be nearer the heart of downtown. Mr. Whealy

Edison Refund To Many Consumers
Coming as a New Year's gift to a large number of its consumers, Southern California Edison Co. Ltd., through R. E. Bacon, local district manager, announced today that it is ready to refund certain line extension deposits amounting to more than $165,000 which had not been refunded previously. The refund is under certain rulings of the Railroad Commission.
"The these refunds will affect very district on our system," said Mr. Bacon, "in sums ranging from just a few dollars into the hundreds. The ruling of the Railroad Commission now authorizes us to extend our lines without cost to the consumer on the following basis:
"For each lighting consumer, we will extend 250 ft. of free line; for each refrigerator consumer, 200 ft. of free line; for each kilowatt of heating or cooking load, 125 ft.; for each horse-
Law to Eliminate Confusing Lights
Bidding and confusing lights along California highways would be eliminated under the terms of a proposed amendment of the law now being considered by the Motor Vehicle Conference of California. The proposal to apply the law to dangerous roadside lighting has been prompted by surveys showing the prevalence of lights which are as much a hazard to motorists as the improperly adjusted headlights of approaching cars, according to J. Allen Davis, secretary of the conference and associate counsel of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
Most of the lights which the propos-ed law would forbid are maintained to call attention to enterprises along the highways. The suggested regulation would prohibit such lights which tend to affect the vision of motorists and add to the dangers of night driving. The proposed amendment has been approved in principle by the executive committee of the conference.
California Grows and Grows and Grows
Final population figures for California have just been issued by the Census Bureau at Washington, which shows a total of 5,677,251, an increase of 2,250,390, or 65.7 per cent, over ten years ago. This was the highest rate made by any state since the census in 1920, and California now ranks six among the states, having passed Michigan and Massachusetts in the decade.
California was in 1848 ceded to the United States by Mexico and in 1851 was admitted into the Union as the 32nd state. During the next ten years the state made a gain of 310.4 percent in population. The number of people in California showed a large increase each ten years, and in 1890 passed the 1,000,000 mark. In 1920 a population of over 3,000,000 was recorded.
The total land area of California is 155,652 square miles and the average number of inhabitants per square mile is 36.5, compared to 22 in 1920. There are 47 cities in California with population of 10,000 or more.
