THE ANAHEIM GAZETTE ESTABLISHED 1870 HENRY KUCHEL, Editor and Publisher ISSUED EVERY THURSDAY SUBSCRIPTION PER YEAR ... $2.00 SIX MONTHS ... 1.00 Entered at the Anaheim, California Postoffice as second-class matter. AND THE COUNTRY IS STILL DRY A Federal judge in New Jersey has decided that the Eighteenth amendment as it now stands is not valid, because it should have been adopted at constitutional conventions held in the states, instead of by the legislatures. But the judge's decision does not make the country "wet" by any means, his ruling applying only to New Jersey, where there is a state law yet to be overcome. The decision is to be hurried to the U. S. Supreme Court, which has more than once upheld the Eighteenth amendment, and likely will again. A Merry Christmas Just the old-time happy phrase, but it expresses all that is in our hearts of gratitude for you and yours.
