Johnston, of 416 North Claudina street, celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary Tuesday, the event being marked by a sumptuous dinner. They were married in Athena county, Ohio, soon after Mr. Johnston returned from service in the Civil war in 1865. The newly-weds lived on a farm for a time and in 1880 made a journey of 42 days in a covered wagon to a new farm in Iowa. They lived in Seattle until eight years ago and soon after came to Anaheim to live near their daughter, Mrs. Della Johnston Earker. The Rosecrans field is an old one which has shown little activity in drilling for two or three years, but the producing wells are still making a good showing. The Cypress company expects to strike oil at a depth of about 5,800 feet. The company's new well at Inglewood is making about 250 barrels of good oil a day, and it has stimulated other companies into activity in that field.
