RANCHER KILLED IN AUTO MISHAP
Tonimie T. Turner of Fullerton Dies In Accident; Inquest Friday Afternoon
Inquest over the body of Tonimie T. Turner, 61, wealthy and well known Fullerton rancher who was struck down by an automobile at the intersection of Highland and Orangethorpe avenues yesterday morning, will be held from the McAulay-Sutera funeral parlors Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock.
Rushed to the hospital immediately after the hospital physicians expressed the opinion that Mr. Turner was killed instantly. The driver of the automobile, J. B. Hprt, 68, of San Jacinto, was reported prostrate with shock after the accident. Later he recovered sufficiently to report to police that he was passing a truck that was well out in the center of the road, when his car was upon Mr. Turner before he could stop. The truck had blocked the passing car's view of the pedestrian.
Mr. Turner, a rancher who has lived on West Orangethorpe for almost 10 years, is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary Turner, a daughter, Florence, and Jason Leroy.

SYLVESTER
I herewith present my qualifications and platform for the office I seek in the coming election, that of Sheriff of Orange county.
BUSINESS TRAINING
If elected, I pledge myself to conduct the affairs of the sheriff's office in a business-like manner, and feel I am qualified to do this because of my years of training in business life. All persons would be treated in an impartial way, and ALL laws enforced. I have been a resident and business man of this county for 18 years.
APPOINTMENTS
I have had years of training in selecting men to serve in business life and believe that I am qualified to appoint only those men to office who would serve the county as faithfully as if it were a private concern.
I have not made any promises of offices to any person, as that, in my opinion, is the same as buying votes. Not being backed by either a politician or any political organization, I am unhampered by outside considerations.
ENFORCEMENT AND PROTECTION
The people of Orange county elect its officers to enforce its laws, and when the oath of office is taken, no man can do otherwise, unless he perjures himself.
With Orange county being an agricultural center, I believe the rancher and farmer are deserving of all the protection and co-operation the sheriff's office can render against thievery and malicious destruction of property and crops, and I will give immediate attention to calls for assistance.

ALWAYS ON DUTY
If elected, I will devote my ENTIRE time to the sheriff's office, and have deputies on duty both day and night.
WORK WITH DISTRICT ATTORNEY
I will co-operate with the district attorney, in order to give the greatest efficiency to law enforcement.
18th AMENDMENT
At the present time, much stress is given to the enforcement of the 18th amendment, and I wish to state that with the co-operation of the people, we can make this, Orange county, as dry as you wish it to be.
I have never been a drinker, as an investigation of my record will prove. I invite said investigation of my past record, as an honest and law-abiding citizen.
KNOW THE DUTIES
I have made a study of the duties of the sheriff, and feel fully qualified to fill the office and serve the people in a business and law enforcement administration, for the betterment of the county.
I solicit your support at the primary election, August 26th, for the office of Sheriff.
