U.S. Forest Service Closes Big District Happy Camp, Klamath Forest, Scene of Seven Fires Due to recent and repeated outbreaks of incendiary fires in the Happy Camp district of the Klamath national forest, S. B. Show, chief of the California district, United States Forest Service, announces that this ranger district has been closed to public use and travel, except under special permit from the forest service. This order, made in conformity with authority from the secretary of agriculture, became effective August 30, and will continue until further notice. Violation of this closure regulation is punishable by a fine of $500 or twelve months' imprisonment, or both. The Happy Camp district which has been closed to the public includes the drainage basins of China, Lower Elk, Ukanom, Dillon, Clear, Indian and Thompson creeks, as well as the main Klamath river region from Dillon mountain and T-Bar creek north to a point one mile above the mouth of Thompson creek. "It is with keen regret," said District Forester Show, "that we have found it necessary to take these drastic measures, but seven incendiary fires in one day, such as occurred on August 28, and repeated previous fires of this character this season, point to a defiance of the law which calls for stern measures. Numerous incendiary fires have also occurred in other districts of the Klamath forest, notably the Yreka district, and, if these continue, we are prepared to close the entire forest to the public and concentrate our efforts on the capture of the culprits." All of these applications are accompanied by checks, thus assuring the Trojan officials of a certain sale of 2000 seats at this time for every game. Thousands of applications have been taken out, many of which are expected to be in by the first game with Occidental, on September 24. Ticket managers are confident that every one of the 6000 reserved season tickets will be sold. These cardboards reserve for the holder the same seat throughout the season, with the exception of the California game, when all positions are moved one section westward. Southern California officials now expect capacity crowds for the California, Washington State and Washington games at the Los Angeles coliseum. There was every indication that if twice the amount of room available in the beautiful ballroo mof the club could be secured that it would be signed up in a hurry, members of the preview executive committee said. The two remaining spaces have been tentatively allotted to radio dealers who are away on their respective vacations, and it is expected that within a few days the exhibit room will have been completely signed. The radio preview is to be confined entirely to Orange county radio dealers. The show will probably be the first large radio show in the United States planned entirely by the dealers. Purpose of the exposition is not to make money for the radio dealers, but to build goodwill for radio. That harmony and co-operation have already been instilled into the radio dealers through frequent meetings to discuss plans for the show is demonstrated by the fact that several of the dealers representing the same lines are joining together in large exhibit booths. Walter Biddick of Los Angeles, program director, was present and read to the dealers a list of radio entertainers who will be at the show on the respective evenings, the list representing the "cream" of the Los Angeles radio favorites. An extensive publicity campaign utilizing radio stations and newspapers, will not be started until after the Los Angeles Radio Show and the Orange County Fair have been held, it being the desire of the radio dealers to lend every co-operation to those in charge of the two events. The radio dealers are to meet again Tuesday evening at the Elks' Club. WHEREAS, Trust, dated January page 50 of D County, California erence is here provisions there Mary M. Nestling beneath the rugged peaks of the Sangré de Cristo mountains lies this ancient city of the Holy Faith. Not only is Santa Fe the capital of the state in which it is situated, but it is the capital of a dim historic past in which the cliff dwellers and Pueblo Indians were the central figures. Right at the doors of this interesting city is the land of the cliff dwellers with its mysterious remains and legends inscribed on rocks, ever puzzling to archeologists. At short distances from Santa Fe are numerous Indian villages where motorists may view the ancient rites and ceremonies that resemble those performed ages before the advent of Columbus. In 1605 Juan de Onate founded the villa of Canta Fe, and many of the buildings of that day still remain, the principal one being the old chapel of San Miguel. The Palace of the Governors is now a seat of culture, housing the American School of Archaeology. Here it was that General Kearney raised the American flag in 1846, and where Kit Carson and other brave frontiersmen made their headquarters when the town was the western outpost of American civilization. This building, located on the plaza at Santa Fe, has seen the rulers of Spain, the Pueblo Indians, Spain again, then Mexico and finally, America, hold sway and rule an enormous empire. This city is also the location of the state museum, a splendid building built in the Pueblo and mission type of architecture and containing a very interesting collection of Indian and early Spanish trophies, and also containing 1926, was not paid when due and has not since been paid, in whole or in part, and in that each of the installments due on said note subsequent to said November 1st, 1926, has not been paid in whole or in part, and that there was on March 14th, 1927, the sum of $2547.95, and interest thereon from November 1st, 1926, together with the sum of $41.50 advanced under the terms of said Deed of Trust in payment of taxes on the property covered thereby; with interest on said last mentioned sum at the rate of eight per cent per annum from October 30th, 1925, and WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of said Savings, Loan and Building Association of Anaheim on March 14th, 1927, exercised the option contained in said note and adopted a resolution on said day that the whole sum of the unpaid amount on said note on said date, to-wit: $2847.95, and interest on said sum from November 1st, 1926, and said sum of $41.50 and interest as aforesaid, was then immediately due, and that the withdrawal value on said date of the shares of said Association pledged as collateral security for the payment of said note was $610.75, and that said Board of Directors by said resolution did thereupon apply said sum of $610.75 to the payment of said note; and WHEREAS, said Savings, Loan and Building Association of Anaheim, owner and holder of said note, has declared that default was made as aforesaid, and has declared the whole amount of the unpaid principal sum, together with the interest thereon as aforesaid, and the said sum of $41.50, and all other sums secured by said Deed of Trust, now due and payable, has demanded that said Trustee shall sell the premises granted by said Deed of Trust to accomplish the objects of the trusts therein expressed; and WHEREAS, said Savings, Loan and Building Association of Anaheim did, on April 29th, 1927, record in the office of the County Recorder of Orange County, California, a notice of the above mentioned breach and default and notice of its election to cause the property described in said Deed of Trust to be sold by said Orange County Title Company. In accordance with the provisions of said Deed of Trust to satisfy the obligations secured by said Deed of Trust, which notice of default and of election to sell was duly recorded in Book 43, page 188 of Official Records of said Orange County; and WHEREAS more than three months have now elapsed since the recordation of said notice and all of the sums and obligations secured by said Deed of Trust remain unpaid; and The Trustee's fees and expenses of sale incurred and to be incurred necessary to the execution of the trusts contained in said Deed of Trust are estimated at $158.00, and the re-payment of said sum is secured by said Deed of Trust.
