INSTALL NEW MEMBERS
Ten new members were initiated into the local Legion Post at their regular meeting held in the Legion clubrooms Tuesday night. One of the largest crowds for some time turned out to receive the new members. Comrades Wees, Starkey, Lake, Ria, Knapp,
Hanson, Heyling, Rigby, Strickland and Perry were those going through the ritual.
Committee reports showed that the new committee chairmen were right on the job and had already outlined work for the new year which will prove to be of great benefit to both the Legion post and perhaps to an even greater extent to the comm.

Mrs. Pauline Young has accepted the position as day nurse in the Haskell hospital at Artesia.
Mrs. George Watts and Mrs. George Martin accompanied Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Gamble of Artesia to Huntington Beach on Thursday evening to witness the installation of officers of Seaside chapter, Order of Eastern Star. On Saturday the same party, with the addition of Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Scheffele of Artesia, attended a similar meeting at Whittler.
The Willing Workers' Club will hold a bazaar in the administration building on the boulevard Saturday afternoon and evening, December 11. Dinner will be served at 6:30 o'clock.
Mrs. George Watts was in Los Angeles on Monday, shopping.
Mrs. George Martin attended a meeting of the Matrona' Association of Southern California in the Masonic Club building, in Los Angeles, on Saturday.
Misses Marian and Murjorie Watts were guests on Saturday afternoon at a miscellaneous shower in honor of Mrs. Edgar Graybau, nee Erma Batis, given by Miss Florence Trapp, at her home near Harding.
Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Condra were in Santa Ana Sunday.
Mrs. B. Juszklevicz was a Los Angeles shopper on Tuesday.
FOUR-FOURS
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Zeppenfeld entertained the Four-Fours at their regular monthly meeting on Thursday evening. The decorations were in harmony with the yuletide season and were much admired. After the 7 o'clock dinner, the usual game of whist was enjoyed, Mrs. McCord and Fred Backs winning high scores. Judge and Mrs. Homer G. Ames will entertain the club at their next meeting.

J. O. York, an aviation engineer who is at present constructing an advanced type airplane for Eddie Martin of Santa Ana, gave a very instructive talk on the history and the future possibilities of air travel, emphasizing the commercial end of the flying game.
A unique musical entertainment was presented by Jack Eden, who played a home-made violin constructed from a cigar box and broom handle. He was accompanied by his sister, Miss Doris Eden. Community singing wound up the evening.
