John Fischer has been appointed agent for the Helen and Lynch and Mallon tracts of land, lying directly west of Anaheim. His ad appears new today.
We understand that Mr. Droyfus intends placing an iron front to his store, and it is also reported that Mr. Krooger contemplates the construction of another brick building.
The roadbed and track of the railroad on the north side of Coyote creek was much damaged by the storm. What mail we have had this week came out on a hand car.
During the storm on Sunday night an empty lighter, anchored outside the bar at Anaheim Landing, went adrift. It took a northly direction and was subsequently found ashore near the mouth of the New San Gabriel river.
Colonel and Mrs. A. W. Chase arrived in town on Wednesday. The coast survey party, of which Colonel Chase has charge, will resume the survey of the coast of Los Angeles county some time during the coming month.

After a vexatious delay, caused chiefly by the inclement weather, Mr. Langenberger has removed to his new store on the corner of Center and Lemon streets. The finishing touches have not yet been given to the exterior, but the building, when finally completed, will add greatly to the appearance of our main avenue.
Last Sunday, after the San Diego coach had passed San Luis Rey, it was hailed by two or three men who extensively wanted to take passage. After riding a few miles they were asked for their fare, and representing themselves in an insolvent condition, were put off the stage. Arriving at the next station below, the driver found that he had neither mail bags nor express box; these articles having been quietly distributed along the road by the impecunious travelers.
Orange Items—The recent rains have had a very cheering effect upon our people and prospects are flattering for an abundant harvest. The new church is rapidly nearing completion. The sanitarium received some damage from the heavy rains. The erection of an elegant new school building is proposed. A temporary building will be put up to accommodate the school children for the present season. There was a grand wedding at Dr. Hayward's a few days ago. A band discoursed music and all danced gaily to the tune "We Won't Go Home Till Morning." About 100 persons were present. A surprise party visited the residence of Mr. Patterson Bowers on Wednesday, and he was very badly surprised, but he has an excellent constitution and hopes are entertained that he will soon recover.

Misses Fay McKinley, Georgie Balley, Gladys Cahen and Elsie Rust were guests of Miss Shiela Ross. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sydmer Ross, at their home in the Placentia district Saturday evening and Sunday. The young ladies rode out on their bleveles and report having a perfectly lovely time.
Mrs. Dr. Eddy left yesterday for Fremo to visit several weeks with relatives.
Judge Shanley has been appointed a deputy by County Clerk Beckett for the purpose of registering voters for the ensuing municipal election on April 2.
A number of mighty nimrods of the neighborhood engaged in a rabbit hunt on Sunday. They gathered at the old bridge across the river south of town and worked their way around in the cactus country to Richfield. Returning, lunch was partaken of in the wash near Crowthers. Eight-eight rabbits were killed by the following hunters in the following number: Ed Kraemer, 16; H. Bundy, 8; R. Wisser, 7; Rud Bentz, 7; Frank Steadman, 5; F. Arnold, 5; T. Walters, 5; Herman Stern, 4; Frank Stone, 4; Henry Oalkers, 4; Charley Fay, 3; Fred Ahlborn, 3; Victor Schumacher, 3; Henry Boege., 3; Dr. Houck, 3; J. Strelcher, 3; Ralph Hunter, 2; F. W. Fleischman, 2; H. C. Gade, 1. Billy Freise was a member of the party, but the rabbits realizing the superiority
of his aim, kept out of his way and he failed to land any. Roman Wisser and F. W. Fleischman furnished the excellent lunch. The boys contemplate a coyote hunt in the willows near the river, south of town, in the near future.
Mrs. R. L. Coons received the sad news on Sunday afternoon of the death at Canton Pa., on that day, of her husband's father, in the eighty-eighth year of his age. Mrs. Coons telegramed her husband, who was at Albuquerque at the time. Mr. Coons will return to his home in this city today.
Mr. Koehler of San Francisco spent Sunday with Mr. William Konig. He reports the health of Mr. Weglein to be poor, which causes regret among the many friends of that gentleman in this community.
On Tuesday evening, while Mrs. E. Prothero and daughter were out driving, they discovered a California panther lying in a thicket of small gum trees about 20 yards west of J. B. Noff's place. Several of the neighbors hurriedly gathered, among them Mr. Prothero, who succeeded in killing the animal. The panther was one of the largest of his kind and measured 5 feet 8 inches from tip to tip. It had evidently wandered across the country from the mountains, as no such animals has been found near here of late years.
County Clerk Beckett, School Superintendent Greeley, Assessor Verelay, Mitt Phillips, Crockett Bowers and Chris McNell formed a jolly party of Santa Ana in town on Friday afternoon. These gentlemen are interested in the development of oilter line of said ditch the following courses and distances: South no degrees 25' East 6.54 feet; South 44 degrees 55' East 332.28 feet; South 6 degrees 40' East 297.40 feet to a point marked by an iron pipe, and South 56 degrees 40' East 98.60 feet to a point in the center line of said Santiago Boulevard; thence along the center line of said Santiago Boulevard, South 89 degrees 15' West 419.76 feet to the point of beginning, containing 3.777 acres more or less, according to the survey thereof by W. K. Hillyard in 1924.
Subject to an easement for road purposes over the portion included in the Santiago Boulevard on the South and subject to the right of way along the Easterly line for the ditch and pipe line of the Santa Ana Valley Irrigation Company.
The terms and conditions of said sale: Cash in lawful money of the United States, at least ten (10) per cent of the purchase price to be paid at the time of the sale on filling of the bid, and the balance on the confirmation of the sale by the Superior Court.
All bids or offers for the above described real estate must be in writing and will be received at any time after the first publication of this notice and before making said sale by the undersigned executor of the last will of said deceased at the office of Tipton and Callor, 263-204 First National Bank Building, Anhelm, California, or may be delivered to the executor personally, or may be filed in the office of the Clerk of Life Superior Court of the County of Orange, State of California.
