The L. C. McClelland home on South Lemoh street was burglarized Friday night. A suit of clothes, an overcoat and two hats were taken.
The community Christmas entertainment will be held at the city park on Tuesday evening, December 23. The tree is a 60-foot evergreen, grown in the forests of Washington, and was presented to the city by the Charles H. McCormick Lumber company, of Los Angeles.
The estate of the late Captain P. T. Adams, of Tustin, was appraised at $22,917. It consisted of cash and notes and was left to his three children and two grandchildren.
Harold C. Welch has taken out permit to construct a stucco residence on North Palm street, to cost $4,500.
Bids for the purchase of 223 acres of the George Ford state are being received by Judge West, who will announce the sale on December 19. Four bids have been received, the highest being submitted by B. H. Sidnam of this city. His offer is $100,600.
The trustees have fixed Tuesday, February 3, as the date for the recall election. There will be twelve voting precincts, and undoubtedly the heaviest vote ever cast in the city will be polled. The registration will probably reach 5,000, and few persons will be permitted to shirk.
Two more cities of the county will adopt county meat inspection, under agreements being signed by Chairman T. B. Talbert and Clerk J. M. Backs, of the board of supervisors, with the cities of Anaheim and Fullerton.

Santa Ana is already receiving the county inspection service, and the city of Orange is said to be contemplating its adoption.
The city trustees have purchased a new fire truck, similar to the one that has done such valiant service during the past few years. Fire Chief Fischle says the city has grown to such proportions that two engines are now necessary.
An automobile caught fire on North Palm street Tuesday morning, and an alarm was sent in for the department. The blaze was extinguished before the truck reached the scene.
H. L. Turton, Oakland distributor in Anaheim, has been placed in nomination by the Ku Klux Klan for councilman in opposition to Godfrey Stock. Turton has been a resident of Anaheim a little over four years.
Containing charges of gross misuse of authority and asking $10,175 damages, a suit was filed last week in the superior court by Miss Louise Wedell. Fullerton bookkeeper, against City Marshal Arthur Eells and City Recorder William French of Fullerton and their bondsmen, Attorneys Z. B. West, Jr., and Franklin West, of Santa Ana represent the girl. The court action is said to be the outgrowth of an early morning raid by the officers upon the home of Miss Wedell at 322 Truslow avenue. Her story of the affair, as contained in the legal papers charges the officers battered down the door and then searched unceremoniously through the house, dumping clothes and the contents of drawers in confusion on the floors while the terrified girl crouched in her bed.

A Christmas pageant will be given at the White Temple Tuesday evening which, it is declared, will be the finest Christmas entertainment ever held in the church.

The trial of Judge J. U. Hemmi, former Anaheim attorney, charged with complicity in the postal robbery here a year ago, began Tuesday in the Federal court at Los Angeles. A valise containing $5,500 of the stolen loot as found in Hemmi's garden. It had been placed in his charge, he said, by J. R. Abernathy, and he did not know it was stolen.
Mrs. C. A. Marvin, of LaFayette, Ill., came in some days ago on a visit to the family of her son, Robert Marvin, on Illinois street. She expects to spend the winter here.
The rainfall the first of the week amounted to a little over a quarter of an inch, according to the gauge at the Anaheim Orange & Lemon Growers' Association. This makes 2.37 for the season as against 1.03 at the same date last year.
