DON'T FAIL TO VOTE
Calvin Coolidge will be the next president of the United States if the people of the United States exercise to the full their right of citizenship and express by ballot their sentiment and their judgment. It is only by a small vote in the nation on election day due to the indifference of American citizens that there can be any other result. This prediction is made from a study of reports received from all sections of the country reports not from politicians but from individuals in every walk of life and from newspapers, the editors of which have made a careful survey of conditions his composite opinion represents the views of men and women in all walks of life, farmers, mechanics, bricklayers, dairymen, stock-growers, railroad men, lawyers, storekeepers, school teachers, plasterers, carpenters, plumbers, bankers, garagemen, editors clerks, barbers, automobile dealers, ministers, and many others to numerous to mention.
One of the strong reasons for the success of the president at the coming election is the attitude of the women of the nation. They believe in Coolidge. They know that he is honest and will help them safeguard the home. They don't want to see a change that would, without doubt, reduce wages and deprive their children of a chance to advance in the world. They are for Coolidge because he is familiar with their problems. He stands for the honest and clean things of life.
Labor realizes that its chance for high wages is far better under Coolidge than any other candidate. The railroad men who favored Mr. McAloo are coming over every day to Coolidge for they realize that from the poor peasant of Europe generally change the conversation.
A nation-wide movement is on foot to get out the vote this year, all classes of people are interested in having the verdict made square and clean-cut and thousands who have never before voted for a republican President will, this fall, register their votes in favor of the principles of liberty and justice as against the teachings of the soviet. As one paper in Wyoming says, "A good bit is to be gained by studying the LaFollette platform. In it will be discovered many surettious stabs at the very vitals of the country. In some way, not open to public view, La Follette is in close touch with alien forces engaged in boring from within for control of this country. And who knows the purposes for this desire for control? It cannot be honest or it would be open and above board. Dishonest purposes are those that are concealed and surrounded by mystery."
General Dawes said in a recent speech, referring to La Follette's platform, "Does he think that we are a race of fools?"
High wages, good times generally and a reduction of taxes and the strictest economy in government expenditures are matters that the voter is going to carefully consider when he goes to the polls in November. No, we are not a race of fools.
ASK PRESIDENT TO KEEP FARM PRODUCTS TARIFF
Bearing credentials from farming, manufacturing, mining, banking and mercantile interests throughout the states west of the Mississippi, A. N. Mathers of the Farmers' Cooperative Beet Growers' Association of Nebraska appealed to President Coolidge to take action in the existing situation upon the selling price gardless of what policy writers may contend the sugar tariff is given farmer. A definition in favor of recent sugar duty will store the confidence in the government western agriculture decision it is in the government to render."

Labor realizes that its chance for high wages is far better under Coolidge than any other candidate. The railroad men who favored Mr. McAdoo are coming over every day to Coolidge for they realize that from him they will get a square deal.
The farmers have not been fooled by the LaFallett platform, they remember, as do the producers of dairy products that the third party candidate, LaFallett, could have secured for them greater protection if he had made the effort and had been a constant attendant of the sessions of the committee. His vote might have blocked the free-traders. The dairy-men do not agree with LaFollett in his "reduce the tariff" policy on many things that are produced in this country, neither are the stockmen going to enlist under the banner of the man from Wisconsin. The fairy tales that sound like some of the bed-time stories one hears on the radio, that have been sent to the farmers have not been accepted as truth by the men who till-the soil they have seen through the flimsy arguments and misleading statements that have been sent out by the free trades and low tariff supporters who dare not come out with a statement saying that free trade or a low tariff would help the farmer, these spellbinders when asked if a low tariff would cause our prices to compare with the prices of
ASK PRESIDENT TO KEEP FARM PRODUCTS TARIFF
Bearing credentials from farming, manufacturing, mining, banking and mercantile interests throughout the states west of the Mississippi, A. N. Mathers of the Farmers' Co-operative Beet Growers' Association of Nebraska appealed to President Coolidge to make no reduction in the existing import duty on foreign grown sugar. Mr. Mathews stated that he came to Washington with written communications from hundreds of national and state producing organizations, banks, farm associations and commercial organizations in support of this position.
We are opposed to any change being made in the sugar schedule," Mr. Mathews informed the President. "The rapid increase in beet sugar acreage is displacing the surplus wheat acreage and helping to solve the problem of over-production in the wheat belt. The protective tariff is the pivot upon which the permanent prosperity of the western farmer is turning and to disturb it will throw western agriculture out of gear. Against this statistics of the Tariff Commissioners or any others who are able to figure out a decrease in the sugar tariff we place the experience of the best sugar growers, the opinion of the agricultural west and the business judgment of the bankers which is unanimous in its decision that we can stand no reduction in the duty on sugar.
"The sugar tariff directly benefits

GUARANTY—Mr. C. C. Chapman of Fuller
consider an amendment to the Federal Constitution which provides for taxing the income from future issues of state and municipal bonds by the Federal Government. It also provides that states may tax incomes from future issues of government bonds that are owned within their borders. In plain English this means that the income derived from tax-exempt bonds instead of being tax-free as in the past, would thereafter be subject to taxation in the same manner as income earned in any manner whatsoever.
Wealthy individuals, subject to a federal income tax of 50 per cent to 58 per cent, are buying 5 per cent, 5-12 per cent and 6 per cent tax-free securities now, at per; or a very slight advance. A 5 per cent security, tax-exempt, in the possession of a person receiving an income of a million dollars a year yields him as much net income as a taxable security paying an annual rate of 11 per cent.
More than a billion dollars is now diverted every year from agriculture and business to tax-free bonds. This is a knife that cuts both ways. It deprives industry of the needed capital and it shifts heavier taxes upon agriculture and business. If that leak is stopped by the passage of an amendment, agriculture and business will thrive as never before.
Tax-free bonds and heavy sur-taxes do not promote good times. Lower sur-taxes with no more tax-free bonds will promote prosperity.
