THE DAYS OF LONG AGO Culled from the Files of Former Times of This Paper Everybody complains of the dullness of the times and the scarcity of money. Heiman and George have the largest advertisement in the Gazette, consequently they have the most money, ergo, they do the largest business in Anaheim. They have just received a large new stock of goods expressly for the Christmas holidays. Give them a call. L. Jander made from the produce of three grape vines five gallons of wine. At that rate twenty acres in vineyard will produce 32,000 gallons of wine. The frost injured the grape crop last spring, consequently the average yield was a little bit below these figures. It is rumored that in about a month Charles Lewis Smith, of Anaheim Landing, will lead to the altar of hymen, Miss Madeline Mogort, of this place. Mr. Allen, living at Nathan Sears', was kicked by a horse on Friday of last week and had his leg badly fractured below the knee. He is attended by Dr. Hardin. The doctor thinks he will be able to save the leg. A postoffice has been established at Tustin City, C. Tustin, postmaster; N. T. Harris will act as deputy. The arrangement will take effect after the first day of January, 1873. At the regular meeting of Anaheim lodge, No. 207, F. & A. M., held on Saturday, December 14th, the following named officers wee elected for the ensuing year: Theodore Reiser, worshipful master; W. H. Wylie, senior warden; Philip Davis, junior warden; L. M. Goodman, treasurer; Richard Melrose, secretary. The new officers will be installed on the evening of St. John's Day, Dec. 27th. Herbert Wickham, of Gospel Swamp, raised upon forty acres of land over three thousand bushels of corn, without irrigation. Gospel Swamp is the settlement where you cannot see the ground for the pumpkins. On Monday last we were the recipient of a large and elegantly arranged bouquet from the garden of Mrs. Kate Parker, which now adorns the editorial desk. For the edification of our eastern cousins we will give the names of the flowers in the bouquet before us: Tube rose, phlox drum, mandi, stock, petunias, China pinks, double lianthas, verbenas, canna, milgonnette, chrysanthemum, cockscomb, amaranth, Japanese myrtle, geranium, sweet peas, marigolds and straw flowers. J. E. Bacon, of San Juan, was in town on Monday preparing for Christmas. USING THE RADIO TO CATCH AUTO THIEVES Auto thief catching is to be put on the latest and most scientific basis with the use of the radio by the Automobile Club of Southern California. The license numbers of all autos stolen in this part of the state are to be broadcasted each night by the club theft bureau over the largest radio station in the west now operated by the Los Angeles Times. Information in regard to stolen cars will then reach all parts of America in the quickest possible time. Not only will the numbers of stolen machines be broadcasted, but the club is also giving a comprehensive program daily over the radio on subjects dear to the hearts of every motor car user. Information on recent road changes as affected by weather conditions, safety talks, news of duck hunting and fishing and the solving of legal questions will also be included. This service on the part of the auto club will bring unlimited fame to the southern counties of California, as the information thus sent out will reach more than 600,000 listeners all over the western hemisphere. This is the first time in the history of receiving that the radio has been NOTICE TO CREDITORS Estate of Alex H. Witman, Jr., deceased. Notice is hereby given, by the undersigned, Susie M.
