Arthur Balfour—not the famous A. J., but one of the former presidents of the Sheffield chamber of commerce—is sailing on the Olympic to appear before a congressional committee as representative of Sheffield interests. He made a similar trip last year and claims credit for having the duties reduced in the first draft of the Fordney measure." Dry laws produce a good deal of dry humor. TEST THE SEEDS YOU SAVE Experienced agriculturists take no chances on corn and other seed if there is any doubt as to whether or not it will germinate. It is just as important to the small gardener to know that he has good seed. The best way to determine this is to plant small quantities of the various varieties of seed that have been saved. If the seed sprout up in the window boxes it is a good test. If the seed do not sprout and make reasonable growth you may be sure that it will be useless to plant the seed in the open later, when regular planting time comes. It is worth while to know if the seed are all right. 2nd. Price of Pump F. O.
