REDISTRICTING CONFERENCE
That a conference is to be held in Riverside soon to consider re-districting problems in which Orange, San Bernardino, Riverside and Imperial counties are interested, was disclosed Friday at a meeting of the Orange county Republican central committee.
It was pointed out that no session of the state legislature would be called until congress fixes the basis of population to be used in congressional apportionment. Indications, however, are that California will be allowed fourteen congressmen. It is believed by central committee leaders in the four counties that an understanding concerning mutual interests may be arrived at through a conference.
When this conference is held, all of the members of the Orange county committee will be given notice so that they may attend the meeting.
The consensus of opinion expressed was in favor of having Orange county in a congressional district in which the dominant forces would be counties with interests similar to interests here.
