WOULD REVISE MOTOR CAR LAW Radical Change For Motorists To Be Asked In Legislature The coming session of the state legislature will be asked to pass a law which will revolutionize automobile driving in the state. They will be asked to pass an act giving the driver on the left right-of-way over the man on the right. In short reversing the law and practice of today. Quoting A. J. Swoffer, local manager of the Auto Club of Southern California, there is considerable talk of this among leaders in automobile circles, they realizing that many of the accidents, especially in the city are due to the obsolete custom of giving the driver on the right the precedence over the coming left car. The point in favor of the proposed reverse is that the man on the right be held up for the coming left driver. To make it more plain, let us take an incident that might happen. COT GROWERS ORGANIZE Apricot growers of Orange county who are members of the California Prune and Apricot Growers, Inc., which is the co-operative association handling dried prunes and apricots, this week are receiving copies of a new membership agreement sought by the association. A re-organization of the association was found necessary in order to meet the requirements of state and federal laws. The form of the association is to be changed from a capital stock ordinance No. 391 An Ordnance Prohibiting the Maintenance, Establishment or Carrying on of Any Garage, and Certain Other Industries In, and defining and establishing residence districts in said city and prescribing a penalty for the violation thereof. The Board of Trustees of the City of Anaheim do ordain as follows: SECTION 1. For the purpose of this Ordinance three residence districts are hereby created and established in the City of Anaheim, which are respectively designated "Residence District Number 1", "Residence District Number 2", and Residence District Number 3", the exterior boundaries of which said several residence districts are hereafter in Sections 2, 3 and 4 of this Ordinance, defined. SECTION 2. The exterior boundaries of Residence District Number 1 are hereby defined and established as follows, to wit: Beginning at the point of intersection of the present Northerly line of East North Street and the present Easterly line of North Los Angeles Street in the City of Anaheim; thence Southerly along said Easterly line of North Los Angeles Street to the Northerly line of Lot fifty-four (54) Block "E" Heitmann and George Addition as shown on a map recorded in Book 2, page 249, Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles County, California; Thence Easterly along the Northerly line of said lot fifty-four (54) and the Northerly line of Lots Sixty-two (62) and Sixty-three (63) of said subdivision to the Northeasterly corner of said Lot Sixty-three (63); thence Southerly along the Easterly line of said Lot and the Easterly line of Lot Sixty-four (64) of said subdivision to the Southeasterly corner of said Lot Sixty-four (64); thence Westerly along the Southerly line of said Lot Sixty-four (64) to the Easternly line of Lot Fifty-seven (57) of said subdivision; thence Southerly along said Easterly line and the Easternly line of Lots Fifty-eight (58), Fifty-nine (59), Sixty (60) and Sixty-one (10). Apricot growers of Orange county who are members of the California Prune and Apricot Growers, Inc., which is the co-operative association handling dried prunes and apricots, this week are receiving copies of a new membership agreement sought by the association. A re-organization of the association was found necessary in order to meet the requirements of state and federal laws. The form of the association is to be changed from a capital stock organization to a non-capital stock organization. "This will make the association a Simon pure growers' co-operative marketing association;" says a letter sent to the Register by Richard R Randall, publicity director of the association, which has its headquarters at San Jose. Prunes are not grown in commercial quantities in Orange county and apricots are a minor crop here. Of the 800 acres of apricots in the county nearly all are in the association. It is expected that within the next month growers of the county will be called together for a meeting with H. C. Dunlap, secretary and field manager of the association, and two or more directors of the association. A full explanation of the provisions of the new contract agreement will be made to the growers, and market conditions will be discussed frankly and fully. "As you well know," says a pamphlet sent to local apricot growers, "your orchard interests, including crop and property values, are at stake. No power can conceivably make for such a stability of these values as the proper maintenance of association such as we now enjoy. Beyond the season of 1921 and the expiration of the present contract, this continuance depends on your renewed co-operation." "The proposed reorgalization is, if anything, more democratic, more of the growers, and for the growers than even our present organization. "We must secure the signatures of more than 10,000 prune and apricot growers. This campaign depends for its real success and economy on the co-operation of growers in ready answer to our canvass, service on committees and good yard at all times. "In addition to the study of the new organization, the management will bring to you in January meetings good first hand reports of the situation today. The country of late has become involved commercially and financially to such an extent that the business interests are seriously hampered and AGRICULTURE IN HAWAII The regular meeting of the Tustin Farm Center will be held at the Tustin School next Friday night at 7:30 P.M. A MAN WITH VISION Vice-President Haines of the Pacific Steamship company has predicted that in 25 years we will be doing more business across the Pacific than across the Atlantic. China holds the greatest future for American trade of any country in the world. No other nationality stands higher with the Chinese than the Americans and if we do not take advantage of the present opening, some other country will. Paul Page Witham, American Trade Commissioner, who has been making a study of shipping and general trade situation, in the Far East for the government says: China possesses the basic conditions for good credit, i.e., a nationally endowed country inhabited by a conservative, hardy, industrious people in a mood to develop along modern lines. Here is America's opportunity but it hinges almost entirely upon our merchant marine development. SECTION 4. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. SECTION 5.
