REPUBLICAN DELEGATES Following is a list of delegates to the national republican convention selected by the republican state convention. Republicans should not be deceived by statements emanating from "united republican" headquarters, and the ticket nominated by these men, at behest of Gov. Johnson, should not be supported at the polls on May 2. The following delegates are the only republicans, BE ON GUARD! Republicans of California should be fully awake to the danger that again threatens the party through the machinations of Gov. Johnson. Four years ago they were denied the privilege of voting for their candidates for president and vice president, and this year, through the trickery of the governor, they may not be represented at the national republican convention. The 26 mugwumps nominated at the "united republican" conference at San Francisco, which was conceived by Gov. Johnson, called at his instigation, and dominated by him, are posing as the republican nominees. The possibility of their election is remote, but the state administration has a strong liberal men and women fornia to defeat the tricksters and redeem state. If they want a voice in selecting the candidate for the cast for the regular inees on the second. The names of prepublicans will be placed together. The first those of the program and the next 26 non-candidates selected state convention. I vote for this latter beginning with the Bordwell and ending man. Scratch the foe for the 26 republicans with Bordwell with Chapman. Biblicals. Republicans of California should not forget the importance of the primary election on May 2. Every voter should go to the polls and help elect the regular republican nominees who will assist in the selection of a candidate who stands for the protection of California's industries. C. C. Chapman of Fullerton and John Ackerman of San Diego, are the two republican candidates in the eleventh congress district. They are true blue, uncompromising republicans, and the other 24 are like unto them. There are enough republicans of voting for their candidates to president and vice president, and this year, through the trickery of the governor, they may not be represented at the national republican convention. The 26 mugwumps nominated at the "united republican" conference at San Francisco, which was conceived by Gov. Johnson, called at his instigation, and dominated by him, are posing as the republican nominees. The possibility of their election is remote, but the state administration has a strong non-partisan following, and that vote will be cast solidly for them. Past events have proven that the governor has a number of unsuspected wires in every section of the state which he can pull. It behooves the republicans to keep the fact before them that they are fighting an opponent who will stoop to any trick, no matter how unscrupulous, to gain his end. D. C. Collier, one of the candidates from this district, recently made the announcement on the public platform, that if elected he would go to Chicago with the intention of opposing all republican candidates and voting only for a progressive to head the republican ticket. Miguel Estudillo, the other "united republican" candidate from the eleventh district, is a bitter opponent of the republican party, and wants to go to Chicago for the purpose of fighting republican candidates. The other 24 hold similar views, and are pledged to secure the nomination of progressives for president and vice president. Taxpayers of Anaheim: urged by numerous representative citizens and taxpayers of Anaheim candidates for re-election to the position of City Trustees at the announcing that we have decided to do so; and, if again chose constant endeavor to Anaheim's building investments e same; Anaheim's business activity, a wth; Anaheim's public improvement Anaheim's business activity and growth; Anaheim's public improvement are record greater. These are matters of vital importance to our City's welfare, and the high, honest, unselfish activity on the part of the City Trust affairs will be of incalculable value to the public if again elected Respectfully, JOE WI lican men and women voters in California to defeat the scheme of the tricksters and redeem this boss-ridden state. If they want California to have a voice in selecting the next republican candidate for the presidency they should see to it that their votes are cast for the regular republican nominees on the second of May. The names of progressives and republicans will be placed upon the ballot together. The first 26 names are those of the progressive candidates, and the next 26 names are republican candidates selected by the republican state convention. Republicans should vote for this latter list of 26 delegates, beginning with the name of Walter Bordwell and ending with C. C. Chapman. Scratch the first 26 names. Vote for the 26 republican delegates, beginning with Bordwell and ending with Chapman. Be on guard, republicans. The republican party expects every one of you to do your duty into the hands of the republican vice-president. The other states to elect senators this year, where there is a chance to replace a democrat with a republican are Nebraska, Montana and Nevada and in each of these states there is more than a fighting chance for republicanism. All this is predicted on the theory that none of the seats now held by republicans will be lost to the enemy. In 1914, however, three such seats were taken from us. The determination of the republican leaders is to carry on a vigorous campaign everywhere that even a slight chance appears to secure senatorial recruits. It now seems likely that the republican victory next November will lack nothing in completeness. The completed figures of railroad earnings in 1915 further emphasize the contention that this barometer of prosperity has been chiefly affected Local Notes A number of Anaheim Elks went up to Whittier last Wednesday to attend a banquet. Among them were O. A. Mullinix, Percy Rust, J. A. Fay, C. L. Meacham and H. E. W. Barnes. Billy Wallop, having sold his automobile, and having gone in to reduce his weight by walking, has decided that shoe leather is too expensive, and has purchased another car. Gasoline was too high last week for Billy, so he disposed of his auto. Now he finds that shoe leather is too high and he buys another car. Clear the road for Billy, here he comes! C. H. Fisher and wife, V. W. La Mont, wife and son, Walt Koehler, wife and family, Marlon Eden, wife and family, Frank Mauer and wife, W. Allen, wife and son and Leo and Otto REPUBLICANS MAY CARRY THE SENATE The not unexpected death of Senator Shively of Indiana makes that state a political center of supreme importance this year, for there are two senatorial seats now at stake in the Hoosier elections and the republicans will strain every nerve to secure both of them. Happily, it is a united public party which will strive for these great political prizes in Indiana this year; and there is every prospect that the next Congress will see two republicans in place of the two democrats who have represented Indiana in the senate since 1911. The wisest political observers at Washington have long been of the opinion that a republican president and a republican house are sure to result from this year's election. But there have been grave doubts in many quarters whether the senate could be recaptured by a majority on the floor and without the deciding vote of the vice president. The democratic majority in the senate now stands at sixteen. To regain the senate to republicanism means the taking of nine seats. Two of these will come from Indiana, as events now signify. In addition there is small question that the republicans will win in Maine, New York, New Jersey, Ohio, West Virginia and Missouri. This would divide the senate equally on the floor and would put control were taken from us. The determination of the republican leaders is to carry on a vigorous campaign everywhere that even a slight chance appears to secure senatorial recruits. It now seems likely that the republican victory next November will lack nothing in completeness. The completed figures of railroad earnings in 1915 further emphasize the contention that this barometer of prosperity has been chiefly affected in the eastern territory where war orders have produced a temporary activity in business. The railroads in this section almost doubled their net earnings per mile over the income of the year previous, namely from $307 to $609, while in the west the increase was only from $187 to $217. Thomas C. Ingram, for several years a resident of Buena Park, and a highly respected citizen, died on Sunday morning last, aged 53 years. He had long been in ill health from stomach trouble but the end was not expected at this time. Mr. Ingram had arranged his affairs for a removal to Yuma only a few days before his death. The funeral was held Monday afternoon at the late residence. Rev. T. J. Brown of the Congregational church officiated. Interment was made in Loma Vista cemetery. Expert piano tuning, F. W. Schmidt. SCHOOL ELECTION The regular school election for trustee in Loara school district will be held Friday, April 7th, from 12 to 4 P.M. in the school building. There is one trustee to be elected. J. O. Reed and Arch Henry are the men running. Dr. M. M. Henderson, Dentist, Suite 1, Mullinix bldg., Anaheim. Expert piano tuning, F. W. Schmidt. Start a bank account in the Anaheim National Bank and add it, and you will never be broke. C. H. Fisher and wife, V. W. La Mont, wife and son, Walt Koehler, wife and family, Marlon Eden, wife and family, Frank Mauer and wife, W. Allen, wife and son and Leo and Otto Krebs, spent Sunday at Laguna Beach. They dined chiefly on the contents of two Dutch pots, the principal ingredient of which was chicken. There was also some fish, as La Mont, Allen, Eden and Otto Krebs went down at five o'clock and caught it. Though he stoutly maintained that he did not steal Geo. Terry's auto at Anaheim, George Rose on Saturday pleaded guilty to petty larceny and was given probation by Judge Thomas. Rose declared that he was at Mexicali, near which place he worked, and became acquainted with a gambler who had the machine that had been stolen from Terry. Rose did not know it had been stolen. The gambler wanted to borrow money to use in a game. He got it from Rose, gave the machine as security and could not redeem it. Rose tried to sell the machine to the under sheriff of Imperial county and was arrested. Expert piano tuning, F. W. Schmidt.
