M. E. Bever of West Broadway was in town on Saturday morning and reported that he had a good Jersey cow. He is at a loss to know whether it was stolen or not estray. Just about L. J. Winney, who owns 30 acres of valuable orange land in the eastern addition, was in town on Friday on a business mission and made a pleasant call at this office. Mr. Winney informs us that the Bonney 20 acres was sold last week to a Mr. Pollock of Orange, the consideration being $19,500. The place is set to Valencias and is considered one of the best properties in that section. Seven years ago Mr. Winney's daughter sold this same tract for $200 an acre. This sale evidences the fact of the wonderful advancement made in that section. Mr. Winney eleven years ago bought his tract of 20 acres at a nominal figure, and later acquired 10 acres additional. He has set the tract to Valencias and now has one of the best young orchards in Orange county. Orange land experts have given the information that the land lying east of Anaheim is the best of any in the Southland for Valencias.
