Mrs. Johnson has been under treatment at the hospital. E. A. Harding, a real estate broker of Huntington Beach, filed a petition of bankruptcy in the United States district court yesterday. His debts, all unsecured, amounted to $1,338. His assets are $160, and consist of clothing amounting to $150 and exempt, and a gold watch valued at $10, which is in the hands of the constable at Huntington Beach, on execution. Fred W. Mr. Benchley asked $200 for money advanced on an orange crop that Irvin delivered to another orange dealer. County School Superintendent R. P. Mitchell was in town on Tuesday meeting his many friends in this section of the county. Mr. Mitchell is the most efficient county school superintendent Orange county has ever had, and he is entitled to receive, and will doubtless receive, a large vote in every precinct. of recently published reports appearing in the newspapers to the effect that trout had been found on lands irrigated by the Anaheim Union Water Company and the Santa Ana Valley Irrigation Company, these two companies have been served with notices to screen their ditches by County Game Warden W. K. Robinson. The reports said that the trout were found after the freshets of last winter. The Loara Parent Teachers' Association last Saturday elected the following officers: President, Mrs. J. O. Reed; vice-president, Mrs. John Eells; recording secretary, Mrs. L. E. Evans; corresponding secretary, Mrs. J. Ritchie; treasurer, Mrs. F. H. Wessler; historian, Mrs. A. In the 150-pound class Heinrichs of Anaheim and Taylor of Huntington Beach, were the contestants. Reed of Anaheim vs. an unknown were the principals in a 125-pound bout. The result of the contests has not yet been published. Driver Eck, of the Anaheim-Santa Ana stage route, was arrested Saturday at Santa Ana on a warrant sworn out by his employer, Perry Taylor, charging him with driving an auto while intoxicated. Eck pleaded guilty and was sentenced to jail for 10 days without the option of a fine. His wife was nearly heart broken when judgment was pronounced, and left the court room weeping bitterly. The call of the wheat field was too strong to resist, so Arthur Todd left Tuesday with his family for Reno county, Kansas, where Mr. Todd has a 240-acre wheat field heading out and getting ready for the reaper. Robert Gill, well known here, has reached Santa Ana from Mazatlan, Mexico, where he has been in the employ of the Southern Pacific as assistant superintendent of the West Coast division. Thacker, a missionary widely known in Santa Ana, also returned from Mexico on the Glacier. According to Chief of Police Sebastian, the plans for organizing a citizens' police force in Los Angeles are rapidly maturing. The chief reported to the police commission that J. O. Royer, brigadier general of the Knights of Pythias uniform rank, has been selected to take command of this force, which is to be used for emergency duty, and that already about 1,000 applications have been received from men who are ready to volunteer for this service. Chief Sebastian also said that General Royer had offered to equip a fife and drum corps for the regular police force, and this offer was accepted by the commission with a vote of thanks.
