City Marshal Kellenberger's little son who has been dangerously ill for several days with brain fever, is now on the road to recovery. Dr. D. L. Parker, of the sugar factory force, accompanied by his wife and little daughter, left Monday on a visit to friends in Illinois. A Christmas entertainment was given by the students of the Fremont school Friday afternoon. The program was principally musical. Marriage licenses were issued Saturday to Thomas F. Morgan and Addie Kemper, and to Cruz Martinez and Mauvela Valencia, all of Anaheim. Frank Kimball expects to have his wife brought home from Los Angeles where she has been staying for some weeks with her sister and has been dangerously ill with heart disease. Herman Noll is now traveling in an automobile which the Orange County Wine Company purchased last week for business purposes. It is a Ford. A continuance was ordered in the case of Schlotter vs. Williams, one of the three cases brought on registrations on Friday. The trial was set for January 19. Fred Marsh has moved his grocery store into the new room just finished for him by Louis Bushard, on East Center. He has commodious quarters now and an attractive store. Albert Peralto, who was arrested for presenting a forged check to Charles Federman a couple of weeks ago, had a preliminary trial before Judge Howard and was placed under $500 bonds, which his friends furnished. Everywhere you go in the business section this year you are confronted by such as pines and ferns and the bright red berries of the holly. On Saturday evening the Anaheim Parent Teachers' Association will have the pleasure of listening to a lecture by Dean Willis of the University of Minnesota. The Anaheim high school buildings were inspected by a few members of the grand jury Monday. They were exceedingly well pleased with the several structures. A Louisiana expert figures that by becoming a suffragist a woman reduces her chances of marriage 50 per cent. This is the most subtle knock the cause has yet received. Walter S. Halliwell was in town on Tuesday afternoon from his orange ranch on the east side. Mr. Halliwell has one of the finest orange groves in the county, the trees being laden heavily with golden fruit. The Fairland theater has installed a heating plant in that popular place of amusement and it is very much appreciated by the large attendance each evening during the cold weather. The Knights of Columbus have donated a fund for the purpose of purchasing Christmas presents for the children of St. Catherine's orphanage. There are nearly 200 children in the orphanage and each of them will receive a present from the fund. General Superintendent Platt and General Manager Scott of the Southern Pacific railroad, passed through Anaheim Monday in a special car and stopped for a while to see how Agent Pendleton was conducting the company's affairs here. They found the business satisfactory and went away well pleased with the Anaheim office. Berringer who has occupied the house with her grandson, Lane Bentz, since the death of her daughter, has purchased the Dyckman home on North Philadelphia street. An exchange of household effects and family goods will be made the first of January.* Twenty-six hobos were found encamped on the Santa Fe railroad track Saturday night in one party. Another bunch contained 10, still another five, and at a couple of other points they were traveling in pairs. A hint from the police that this climate was unhealthy caused them to move on. The tramp question is getting to be a serious matter with the officers during the winter season. Joe Carrisosa, who is charged with selling liquor at Myford in violation of the Wyllie law, may never be tried. Saturday an affidavit was filed by Dr. G. C. Clark of Fullerton stating that Carrisosa is ill in bed of valvular trouble of the heart, and that it is probable that he will never recover his health. Upon that affidavit, Judge West continued Carrisosa's trial to February 2. The defendant is out on bail. WANTED WANTED—A housekeeper.
