McCLURE'S PARTHIAN ARROW
Editor McClure of the esteemed Stanton Optimist, who announces in his last issue his retirement from editorial control of that newspaper, has of late been indulging in some pessimistic remarks concerning the editor of this journal. And in his issue of last week, under the heading "An Impudent Would-Be Dictator," hands us the following complimentary notice. Mr. McClure has proven himself to be a great editor, and but for his sewer farm nightmares might still be engaged in turning out editorials at the old stand. Seeing that the people of Stanton made no objection to his presence in that thriving community, the people of this city bethought themselves they would have no objections to the establishment of a sewer farm in that neighborhood also. We thought that if they could stand McClure, they would have no objection to a sewer farm. We regret exceedingly McClure's departure from Stanton, and if this is to be taken as an indication of a desire on their part to purify that neighborhood, it might go hard with us if we should take up the task of establishing three or four more sewer farms in the west country. Mr. McClure goes to Los Angeles, where it is understood, he has a job chewing Phil Stanton's beefsteak.
We thank Brother Kuchel for informing us that Anaheim "has now in operation a septic tank and sewer farm outside the exterior boundaries of Stanton."
When Anaheim establishes another sewer farm we earnestly hope that it may be established both outside the exterior and the interior limits of our thriving little city.
Of course if Stanton must eventually have Anaheim's sewage forced upon it we would prefer to have the deluge begin at once rather than live in suspense for 10 or 15 years and then be overwhelmed with Anaheim's mastiness.
It matters little at the present time what might or might not have been the purpose of incorporating Stanton, the fact is that through incorporation its citizens have been enabled to prevent Anaheim establishing a sewer farm of any kind, objectable or otherwise; and right here we wish to say that all sewer farms are objectable and Mr. Kuchel must be peculiarly constituted and his sense of distinction somewhat warped when he speaks of a sewer farm as being anything else but objectable. We suppose, however, that this is only a matter of taste.
So the westiders have long since seen that Anaheim's city septic tank and sewer farm are "not nuisances, but on the contrary quite the reverse"?
Brother Kuchel would have us believe that sewer farms are a thing to be desired and that all communities should have them located in their midst. How generous of Anaheim to deny itself of so delightful and sweet a privilege in order that its neighbors may be benefited and purified by so much sanitation from its stink pots.
We imagine that the "Westsliders" will feel highly flattered by Brother Kuchel's questionable compliment.
Anyway, we suppose Kuchel will now be able to take his summer vacation nearer home and enjoy the invigorating atmosphere of the sewer farm and the health-giving waters of the septic tank.
No doubt all of Stanton's citizens will be overcome with gratitude to Brother Kuchel for letting them maintain Stanton as an incorporated city, and they will fully appreciate his kindness in informing them that "should they desire to disincorporate, that is their privilege."
The truth of the matter is, that our friend Kuchel, like a few others of his caliber, were outwitted by P. A. Stanton

Stanton and beaten at their own game, and instead of being good losers, are working overtime "howing their heads off" in an endeavor to get "sweet revenge." If these howlers would spend as much time in trying to do good as they do in endeavoring to injure Stanton, they might be able to get some enjoyment out of liv-

We claim superiority over all other patents in the construction of Mausoleums by providing: (Quotation from our Letters Patent) "A burial device comprising a series of unitary hermetically sealed cells or crypts, vertically arranged one upon the other," leaving the crypts "free to change their relative positions to adjust themselves to any ordinary vibration of their foundations or of the ground, or even to extraordinary vibration such as earthquakes, without fracture or other serious injury to the crypts."
The occasion for this advertisement is to announce that through the results of the hearty co-operation of the leading citizens of Anaheim and vicinity, and our own efforts, the erection of a splendid memorial building in the Anaheim cemetery is completely and positively assured.
This splendid building will be a source of gratification to the entire community and a structure to which all future generations will point with pride. A large number of the crypts have been subscribed for, many choice locations remain but the numerous inquiries and interest suggest prompt action who have not yet made their presence and especially where a number in single groups are desired.
This is a public spirited and affords to all an opportunity identified with an enterprise perpetuate the family names of owners for ages to come in the records of this beautiful memorial.
An endowment fund will be a Board of Trustees elected from the crypt purchasers, the intent which alone will care for them throughout all time. How best thought of consigning the form dear one to its housing in the reverence and honor, where, elemental havoc, the long sleepfect rest begins, only to awaken Resurrection day. The ancients tals have ever regarded their mansions as shrines for reverent visitation this modern, wholesome, sanitary these palaces of rest become the of loving remembrance, and in blot out the feeling of eternal sorrow.
We invite thorough investigation of our plans and methods of construction either by mail or in person.

Get wise brother and look upon the bright side for a while.
Now most of these things derogatory to us which McClure points out, are true, but we had no idea he had found them out so soon. Few men, we flatter ourselves, know this. That is the principal reason of our great success as a philanthropist. If his leave-taking from the Optimist office may be taken to indicate a desire for purification at Stanton, then it may be indeed hard for us to establish another sewer farm in that locality. We leaned to the opinion that if Phil Stanton could stomach McClure, he would enter no forcible objection to our establishing a sewer farm in his town also; especially as the sewer farm was removed several miles away from him, and McClure was there, in his vest pocket smelling terrible all the time.

CALIFORNIA MAUSOLEUM
In order that every one may be fully informed as to the Mausoleum situation in California, and as it concerns Anaheim particularly at the present time, we are taking this means of making the correct facts known to the public generally.
Community Mausoleums are erected under patents. The International Mausoleum Company of Chicago, Ill., owned the patents covering the construction and sanitary features embodied in them, and from it the Iowa Mausoleum Company, of Waterloo, Iowa, acquired the rights to the territory west of the Mississippi, and in turn has sold the exclusive rights under the patents to the NATIONAL MAUSOLEUM

The library board announces that on and after May 15 the library will be opened from 10 to 12 in the morning, 2 to 5 in the afternoon and 7 to 9 in the evening, Sundays 2 to 5 P.M. The library has not been heretofore open in the morning, and this change will be welcomed by many who find it convenient to visit the institution at that time.
Community Mausoleums are erected under patents. No other company or person has the right to erect mausoleums under these patents, and any one building, selling, buying or using them and infringing on these patents would be open to an injunction and liable to damages.
The Iowa Mausoleum Company has not as yet been obliged to go into court to protect its patents, but its parent company, the International, brought an action for an injunction and damages against the Rochester Mausoleum Company, Incorporated, of Rochester, Indiana, and a large number of other defendants. The Circuit Court of the United States for the State of Indiana granted the injunction, restraining all the defendants from directly or indirectly manufacturing, USING, selling, or causing to be sold,

Orange Growers' Attention
Los Angeles, Cal., May 1, 1913.
We have had the misfortune of losing, at least temporarily, the service of Mr. J. C. Delaney, our district manager at Placentia and Brooksburst, whose recent mysterious disappearance is evidently due to accidental causes. This will, however, by no means, cause us to cease operations in the two districts, or give up such business as has already been lined up there for this and future seasons.
We will be in position to continue operations as formerly, and in order to facilitate matters, will appreciate it if all the growers who have been shipping through us, and those who intend shipping through us, will immediately get in touch with our Mr. F. B. Foss, of San Dimas, who will take temporary charge of the Placentia and Brooksburst districts. Packing and shipping of the fruit, as arranged for by you with our Mr. Delaney, will be taken care of by our Mr. F. B. Foss, and your co-operation, as requested, will prove of mutual benefit to all concerned, and will be appreciated by the RANDOLPH FRUIT COMPANY.

Another matter: The International Mausoleum Company, the Iowa Mausoleum Company and their subsidiary companies, all working under the same patents, are the only builders of successful mausoleums or that ever have built successful mausoleums. Another matter: The International Mausoleum Company, the Iowa Mausoleum Company and their subsidiary companies, all working under the same patents, are the only builders of successful mausoleums or that ever have built successful mausoleums. We have about twenty completed mausoleums in Iowa, and buildings are now in course of construction in that state, in Nebraska, Kansas, Minnesota and other points throughout the west. We assert positively that every mausoleum built west of the Mississippi river is built under the Iowa Mausoleum patents.
The picture appearing with this article is that of a mausoleum being erected in Cedar Falls, Iowa, under our patents. We invite comparison with the pictures you have seen of other mausoleums.
We invite inspection, and will be glad to furnish literature, and pictures of Mausoleums we have actually built. We repeat again, the NATIONAL MAUSOLEUM COMPANY, with offices at 805-7 Van Nuys Building, Los Angeles, is the only one having any right to operate in California under our patents.
Enough said.
