Charley Brandenburg is sure the dude of the town in his new white trousers.
A. W. Ames, of Santa Ana, was in town on Monday a guest of his son, City Attorney Ames.
An interlocutory decree of divorce was granted to Inez Hocking from John Hocking of Westminster.
B. F. Houts, George King and Sherman Foster, all of Orange, were last of the week visitors in town from that city.
Dean Hasson says that in event of war with Japan he is ready to shoulder a musket and go to the front. Sic 'em, Dean.
Councilman Stark is out with a cane, having recovered from a slight surgical operation to the leg, following injuries received in a runaway accident some weeks ago.
Marshal Kellenberger is getting together a large quantity of crushed rock in the jail yard as a result of labors by a gang of culprits serving sentence during the past several weeks.
Bert Simpson and a party of friends spent Sunday at Stoddard's camp, driving up in his touring car. Bert reports two blowouts on the journey, and a most enjoyable day's outing.
George Sloop holds the record as champion mouse-catcher. Noticing one ambling about a show window in a down-town establishment on Saturday evening, he set a trap for it, and had the mouse inside of one minute.
Officers Germann and Sackett picked up two Weary Willies on Saturday night who were making themselves obnoxious while under the influence of liquor. Recorder Howard sentenced them to five days on the rockpile.
James R. Shearer has been appointed administrator of the estate of Blanche L. Hill, and guardian of five minor children of the deceased. An allowance of $100 a month has been ordered for the care of the children.
Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Dwyer entertained friends at an elaborate dinner on Sunday. Guests present were Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Cole of Stanton, Mr. and Mrs.

G. E. Bruns is driving about in a new Oakland 40, and can show a clean pair of hind tires to the best of them.
Mr. and Mrs. George Cross of Puente drove over one day last week and were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jos. Helmsen.
Supervisor Schumacher was in town on Tuesday on his way to Santa Ana to attend a meeting of the board of supervisors.
Joseph Helmsen is taking a much needed rest at his home and is rapidly regaining his aforetime robust health. Hope to see you out again, Joseph.
W. J. Elliott has purchased a new Rambler, showing that he is in the high class crowd, and shows his customers about the county in a style not to be excelled by anybody.
The W. C. T. U. will hold the next regular meeting in the Methodist church Tuesday, April 22 at 2:30 P.M. Mrs. Crone and Mrs. Phillips, leaders. A cordial welcome is extended to all.
Theo. Ford, the well known south side nurseryman, was in town in his auto on Monday afternoon. Mr. Ford says rain is badly needed throughout the county, and unless it comes soon short barley and hay crops will be the result.
Mrs. Mosseman of Los Angeles spent last week with Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lewis. On Sunday Misses Clara and Adele Mosseman were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis. An auto trip to Santiago canyon was a pleasurable feature of the afternoon. Mrs. Mosseman and her daughters returned to Los Angeles Sunday evening.
County Taxcollector Lamb gives notice in our advertising columns that the second installment of county taxes will become delinquent April 28. There is a great increase in county valuations this year, and much extra work in the taxcollector's office is being done by the present force without extra help. The guests were composed of the personnel of the bridal party, Misses Violet Nebelung and Judith Tyrrell being bridesmaids, and Miss Kathleen Tyrell, Ada Campbell, Marguerite Jarrott and Bula Jungquist, who are to be attendants, with Miss Ethel Coleman, who is to contribute some vocal numbers during the ceremony. Showers on Monday morning amounted to .04 of an inch, according to Mr. Dickel's rain gauge. Moisture is badly needed for all growing crops, no rain having fallen for several weeks. Beets continue to show up well, and if rain falls in the near future a bumper harvest is looked for.
Street Superintendent Kellenberger is posting paving notices on North and South Los Angeles street, where the thoroughfare will shortly be paved to the northern and southern city limits. Bids for paving this stretch, which amounts to about three-fourths of a mile, will be called for by the city trustees probably in June.
The Anaheim skating rink was reopened last week, and skating is now held every afternoon and evening. The management is the same which had the rink here several months ago, and the best of service is assured. Plans are making for a grand masque carnival on skates April 25, and all are invited to take it in.
Wickersheim Implement Company received another carload of eight model T 5-passenger Ford touring cars from the factory on Monday and they have another straight carload of model T 2-passenger torpedo runabouts en route from the Detroit factory. These cars will all be sold upon arrival. To make sure of a car order today.
Miss Carrie McNeil was in town on Sunday morning with the six-months old baby of Mrs. William Seeley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. H. McNeil, who is recovering from serious illness at her parents' home on the Garden Grove road. Miss McNeil was accompanied by her brothers, Masters Frederick and Burton McNeil.
Proprietor Beddig of the Star theater announces that on Monday evening next he will show Helen Gardner in "Cleopatra," a 5-reel feature. This film cost $200,000 to produce and is the most expensive and greatest feature in the world. It is being exhibited in Los Angeles at 25 and 50 cents. The price in this city will be 10 and 15 cents. At the Star Monday night.
The young men of Miss Nettie Aubert's class were on Tuesday evening entertained at luncheon at the home of the Misses Aubert at which time the Groat, of Los Angeles, whose marriage is to occur in June, tea being afterward served at the Hotel Alexandria. The guests were composed of the personnel of the bridal party, Misses Violet Nebelung and Judith Tyrrell being bridesmaids, and Miss Kathleen Tyrell, Ada Campbell, Marguerite Jarrott and Bula Jungquist, who are to be attendants, with Miss Ethel Coleman, who is to contribute some vocal numbers during the ceremony.
