The order was issued at the request of the California Horticultural Commission. Be sure to visit the S. Q. R. store during its annual white goods sale which begins today. The store has received a direct importation of beautiful embroideries from the leading factories of Europe. From among hundreds of new patterns the prettiest and latest were selected. Fischle had just closed his candy store for the night, and was preparing to return home. The marriage of Miss Sophia Bauer and Lee O. Jamison took place at the home of C. E. Bauer, brother of the bride, at Cuoamongh, San Bernardino county, on January 15. Mrs. Jamison is a native of Anaheim, and had resided here until recent years. After a wedding trip to San Diego and Coronado, the young couple will make their home at Cucamouge, where Mr. Jamison is in mercantile business. A meeting will be held in Santa Ana on January 30, 1913, at 3 P. M., in the Santa Ana High School to consider organizing a county federation of all Parent Teacher Associations in Orange county. All the members of the Anaheim and West Anaheim Parent Teacher Associations are invited to attend this meeting, as it will be most important. Mrs. C. C. Noble, of Los Angeles will be the speaker for the afternoon. Newly elected officers of the Rebecca lodge were installed on Friday evening as follows: Mrs. Ida Janss, Noble Grand; Mrs. E. Adams, Vice Grand; Mrs. W. P. Quarton; recording secretary; Mrs. Frank Borth, financial secretary; Miss Lydia Felber, treasurer. Mrs. Sheats, of Santa Ana, was installing officer and was assisted by a competent staff from that city. Installation was followed by an elaborate banquet. Local Moose are making big preparations for a society dance and supper to be held in the opera house Wednesday evening, January 29. This affair has been in contemplation for some time and it was at a meeting of the Anaheim Lodge of Moose held Thursday night that final plans were made for the event, and committees appointed to carry them into effect. A general rally of Orange county Moose will be held and a large attendance of members of the order from all over the entire stock of Furniture, Rugs and Draperies at the Stern & Goodman Mercantile Co.'s store is now at your disposal at 20 per cent less than the regular small prices. Buy now while the stock is complete and save one-fifth on your purchase. A very enthusiastic rally of members and friends of the Anaheim Young Men's Christian Association was held in the Christian church Sunday afternoon with a large crowd in attendance. The singing was good and several speakers inspired the assemblage with their enthusiastic words in speaking of the prospect for the Y. M. C. A. in Anaheim during the coming year. Among the speakers were R. J. Hamilton, county Y. M. C. A. superintendent, Chas. Eygabroad, F. C. Krause, and Raymond Elliott. Bert Robinson, formerly a well-known resident of this city, died at the Santa Ana hospital on Friday evening of pneumonia after an illness of only a few days. Robinson recently returned from Oregon, after an absence of five years. He spent several days in town renewing old-time acquaintances, and last week went to Orange, where he formerly resided. He came south suffering with a severe cold, which was aggravated during his brief stay, and was compelled to go to the hospital. His brother was telegraphed to in Oregon, and arrived a short time after his death. The remains were embalmed and taken to Oregon for interment. Al Allen and William Wiley, who were held by the coroner's jury on a murder charge in the case of Henry Hetiker, the old man burned to death in a shack at West Anaheim two weeks ago, were liberated this week on motion of the district attorney, who held the evidence against them was insufficient to convict. Whether Hetiker was a victim of murder is a question admitting of considerable doubt. The three men had been drinking in Hetiker's shack at West Anaheim, and it is said they quarreled. Hetiker's shack was later discovered to be on fine, and his charred ermals were found burned to a crisp. Fairyland moving picture theater was closed several days the latter part of the week to allow of the installation of a new and up-to-date curtain, which was recently ordered from the East. It arrived and was placed in position, but failed to please Manager Fiedler's critical eye, as no light could be gotten on it, and it was immediately torn down. The theater was again opened on Saturday and usual large crowds were in attendance to see the good pictures which are always shown at this popular amusement resort. Fischle had just closed his candy store for the night, and was preparing to return home. Reentering to the store for a few moments, he found on emerging therefrom that his wheel was gone. Neither bicycle nor thief was anywhere in sight. Fischle walked home in the rain which was coming down in torrents at the time. Robert Gregg, 17 years of age, who took J. B. Andrews' auto one day last week and hit the trail for a joyride to northern sections, was overhauled at Van Uuys by Mr. Andrews and G. E. Fletcher, who went in pursuit of the lad. Gregg took with him Paul Fletcher, aged 10, and the two set out in the rain to see the world. They had proceeded to Van Nuys on their way to San Francisco when they were overtaken and brought back to their homes in this city. The Fullerton Woodmen of the World team and officers came to this city Thursday evening, and installed officers of the local lodge. The installation was public and a number of outsiders were present and saw the ceremony exemplified in first class shape by the Fullerton team. The evening's entertainment concluded with a "feed" to which 50 guests sat down. The following evening the Anaheim team went to Fullerton and installed officers for the lodge at that point. They report a good time and royal entertainment at the hands of their Fullerton neighbors. An oyster supper and dance concluded the evening's festivities. Doty, an old-time friend of her family who dropped dead in that city on Friday noon, as he was walking to his place of business in company of his daughter, Miss Minnie Doty. The deceased was aged 65 years, and had long been a resident of Riverside, where he was on of its leading and influential citizens. The funeral occurred on Monday morning and was very largely attended: Mrs. Helmsen returned on Monday evening. M. V. Stewart, who has been the representative for this section of the Panama Fruit Company for several years past, has resigned from his position with that company, and has gone into business for himself. He has secured offices with the Orange County Realty Company at 120 East Center street, and with this as headquarters will cover this and neighboring districts, handling all kinds of produce, and making a specialty of local grown fruit and vegetables. He sells direct to the Los Angeles markets, thus making a saving for the grower in eliminating the Los Angeles jobbing companies. Mr. Stewart is well known and liked in this community, and will doubtless make a signal success of his present field of work. was closed several days the latter part of the week to allow of the installation of a new and up-to-date curtain, which was recently ordered from the East.
