Students in the Fremont grammar school held a candy sale on the school lawn yesterday and the same will be continued today. It is held for the purpose of raising funds for the Fremont Athletic Club, which has in charge the athletic activities of the school. All kinds of "sweets" and "goodies" have been made by the students for sale at this time, and from samples which have come into possession of the reporter, by what means we are not at liberty to state, we venture the opinion that the candy tastes like more.
Miss Minnie Porter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Porter, of Orangethorpe avenue, was married on Tuesday afternoon at her parent's residence to Mr. Clarence Beckett, a popular young business man of Los Angeles, Rev. F. R. Holcomb, of the Fullerton M. E. church performed the ceremony. The bride is a handsome and attractive young lady who numbers her friends throughout
