Miss Dorothy Yungbluth celebrated her third birthday on Sunday, when members of the family assembled at her parents' home for a birthday dinner. Miss Dorothy was the recipient of many birthday gifts, and proved herself to be a most hospitable hostess.

Henry M. Seymour, a well-known resident of Santa Ana since 1880, died Friday night of pneumonia, aged 72 years. At one time Seymour was an attorney in New York. He was a well-known character at the county seat, and is said to have attended more political conventions than any other man in the county.
Adam V. Moote died on Sunday evening at 11.20 at his residence on West Broadway after a lingering illness. He was aged 69 years, and was a native of Canada. He had resided here a year and a half, being employed by Mrs. Konig. He leaves a wife residing here. Four sisters and three brothers survive him in Canada. The remains were interred on Tuesday.
Miss Nellie V. Sackett, daughter of Officer Bud Sackett, celebrated her fourth birthday on Sunday, and proved herself an agreeable host to a number of her young friends. A birthday cake was a feature of a

Arnold Dickel writes from Berkeley that he has been elected to membership in the Theta Tau Society, a fraternity composed of students in the mining and geological course at the university. The fraternity is an honorary one and membership is sought by many students eligible to membership.

He had resided here a year and a half, being employed by Mrs. Konig. He leaves a wife residing here. Four sisters and three brothers survive him in Canada. The remains were interred on Tuesday.

It is a release by Edna Goodrich of all her dower rights in whatever real property Goodwin may have. The couple have reached a final settlement. In this county Goodwin owned a fine orange orchard at Placentia. The release was signed in New York.
Samson Edwards, the pioneer who with his wife, was killed in a collision of his auto with an electric car at Santa Ana on March 26, left an estate valued at $109,000. This is shown in the petition of his son, N.T. Edwards of Orange, for letters of administration. The petition states that the real property is worth $90,000 and personal $19,000. Heirs are three sons, John H. and William J., of Westminster, and N.T. of Orange one daughter, Mrs. Belle Rogers of Santa Ana, and four grandchildren.

Arnold Dickel writes from Berkeley that he has been elected to membership in the Theta Tau Society, a fraternity composed of students in the minng and geologcal course at the university. The fraternity is an honorary one and membership is sought by many students eligible to membership.
The California Clothing Company this week opened a gents' furnishing establishment in the Metropolitan block opposite Dickel's store. Mr. Feinstein, manager of the concern, has had much experience in his line in Los Angeles, and promises the best and latest of everything in boys' and men's furnishings.
Rosario Saiz was brought back from San Quentin by Sheriff Ruddock on Tuesday and lodged in the county jail. Saiz has been granted a new trial on a charge of murder. He was convicted last July and sentenced to be hanged in August. The upper court reversed decision of the lower court on a technicality.

Mr. and Mrs. H. S. Hadsell sail next week for a two-months' trip to the Hawaiian islands and Japan. Mr. Hadsell goes to look into the sugar business in the islands, and will prolong his trip to Japan for a sightseeing voyage. The prizes corresponded to the general scheme of decoration, which was of St. Patrick's color. The first prize, a green jardiner with a green fern, was presented to Mrs. E. Olmstead. The second, a bon bon dish, was given to Mrs. Hessel. The consolation went to Mrs. W. V. Conklin. It was a bottle of green perfume. Green tally cards decorated with shamrocks being used. The table where luncheon was served was prettily decorated in the many emblems of St. Patrick's day. Green ferns and shamrocks composed the flower decorations. The place cards also matched.

The Southern California Edison Co.has filed an answer to the complaint of Audrey Waldler, aged about 15, of Brookshurst, who is suing the company for $20,000 damages for injuries received when she picked up a livewire that had fallen to the road on October 19,1910.The answer declares that the girl was bright and intelligent,and did not use ordinary care in her act.The company declares the breaking of the wire was unavoidable,and it denies having been informed of the danger.
J.H.Clabaugh will be a candidate to succeed himself as trustee of the Anaheim school district.Mr.Clabaugh is chairman of the board,and gives much of his time to an earnest endeavor to improving all departments of the schools.Himself a former school teacher,he is as we'll fitted as any man in the community to fill the duties of the office,and his constant devotion to the interests of the pupils has more than once brought him favorable comment.As yet no one has appeared to contest his election,and he will probably be elected without opposition.

Judge Howard had four cases in court on Tuesday morning. Two were charged with being too well lit up, one had a stew, the fourth a souse. Against the first two fines of $5 each were assessed, the third was fined $10, and the fourth drew the consolation of $10 and ten days in jail.
John L. Schumacher, as administrator of the estate of Elizabeth Schumacher, has filed his final accounting and petitions in the superior court to distribute the residue and discharge him from his duties. The inventory shows an estate valued at $30,500. The petitioner was the husband of deceased, and prays the distribution of the estate in the ratio of one-third to himself and two-thirds to his children, of whom there are six.
County Clerk Williams has received notice from the secretary of state of the suspension of the law establishing a registrar of voters in each county. The county clerk of Alameda has secured an initiative petition and the law will be submitted to the people, probably in September. Many of the county clerks of the state including Williams of this county, favor the law, while others are opposed to it.
George Tolson has returned from a ten-days trip to Joliet, Montana, where he was called on business the early part of last month. He found the weather cold, snow and wind prevailing for seven days consecutively. The thermometer registered 26 degrees below zero, which, Mr. Tolson avers, is some cold.
