ODD FELLOWS' BANQUET
Nine Hundred Visitors Served With Elaborate Feed
Nine hundred Odd Fellows, their wives and friends partook of a barbecue at the Deutsche corner on Thursday evening at half-past 6 o'clock. Five coachloads of Odd Fellows arrived by special train over the Santa Fe at 5:30. They were met by a large delegation of local brethren, headed by the Anaheim band. A line of march was formed and the visitors were escorted up town. At the corner of Center and Los Angeles streets addresses of welcome were made by F. C. Spencer and Judge J. S. Howard. The latter presented Col. Sherburn of Sacramento, who headed the visiting delegation, with a key to the city, telling the colonel the entire city belonged to him and his brethren of the three links.
Col. Sherburn responded in felicitous utterance, and the parade continued on its way to the banquet board, where well laden tables were roped off. Placards displayed upon the posts warned the large crowd which gathered that the spread was for Odd Fellows only.
Five hundred ate at the first table, where barbecued bull's heads, beef el, Henry Adams and F. A. Yung-bluth.
From the time of the turning over of the key to the visitors a general good frolic of the lightsome order held sway. The band played lively tunes, horns were tooted by old and young, rattles were made to buzz and automobile sirens and horns were blown and honk-honked.
Mayor Rust was placed in a buggy and together with Col. Sherburn and the key paraded up and down Center street. In a second vehicle was the city marshal. Both buggies were drawn by members of the order. At the corner of Lemon and Center the cavalcade came to a halt and Mayor Rust was called upon for a speech, in response to which a German brother answered in the "Deutsche Sprache," and asked for "drei mal Hoch fur den Herr Major" (three cheers for the mayor), which was lustily joined in by the entire crowd.
A single-file, lockstep march was taken up through the town, fair ladies were caught in a circle and danced around, automobiles were stopped and speeches demanded from the occupants. The 'bus from the city, stables was seized, filled with ladies and headed by two snare drummers paraded up and down the streets.
Thanks expressed for time, with assurances will long linger in all the visitors for aftef the best times of them a farewell toof of the cheering and singing parted. Welcome, aggrieved string is always on the "good fellows."

On the 26th of this month another host of Odd Fellows will hold a district meeting in Anaheim.
Wednesday was the day of the auto parade of over 400 Odd Fellows and their ladies through northern Orange county.
On Center street, in front of the Odd Fellows' hall, a long table was set with 500 baskets of grapes, nuts and oranges; These together with a descriptive folder of Anaheim were passed out to the visitors under the auspices of the R.M.A., headed by Messrs. Stern, Henry Adams and Welborn Wallop. Many congratulatory remarks on the part of the visitors were made on Anaheim's hospitality and their appreciation thereof.
In exchange visiting members from the Watsonville district, distributedluscious large apples to home people gathered and helping about the table. A general feeling of good fellowship marked the entire affair.
When the delegation reached Santa at the end of the fifth inning he retired to the bench with a crippled finger and Captain Lewis took his place in the box. Fayette always plays classy ball in any one of the nine positions, and he retired six men, allowed but three hits and sent two men to first on balls. Eight hits were made off Wait, the Woodman pitcher, he struck out five men, and gave five passes on balls.
Carpenter fulfilled the expectations of the fans by driving the ball over into an alfalfa patch in an adjoining township and galloping around the diamond without a pause, also scoring Valencia who preceded him to the bat.

ANAHEIM WINS CLASSY GAME
Modern Woodman Ball Team Defeated by Score of 11 to 4
The Modern Woodmen of America was the name of the Los Angeles baseball aggregation which tried to play a game with the locals on the home diamond Sunday afternoon. They were a pretty classy bunch and put up a pretty stiff game, but they held the short end of an eleven to four score at the close of the ninth inning.
Valencia and Carpenter, the two old favorites of last season were in the game for the first time, Valencia playing third base and Carpenter left field.
Huntington pitched a splendid game, striking out seven men and allowing but one hit in five innings, but
