LOCALS LOSE TO VISITORS
Westminster Nine Takes Poorly Played Game, 10 to 7, Ten Innings
BY CHILLY FISHER
In one of the poorest played games of the season the Anaheim baseball team went down to defeat in a ten inning game to the Westminsters. The changing of players from their regular positions and the loss of Carpenter explains the defeat. Spencer and D. Stone, the regular pitchers, both complained of sore arms and Elmer Stone was put in to pitch. Elmer had the curves but could not hold the Westminsters down with poor fielding to back him, and also had a tendency to hit and walk batsmen when the bases were full.
The feature of the game was Palm's three base hit with the bases full. Goddard also hit hard, getting one 3-base hit and two doubles out of four trips at the plate.

in which his books are kept was standing open, while another drawer in the office was in similar condition. The cash register had been left open, as is the usual custom in the market overnight, and was not disturbed.
Mr. Schumacher took his books home with him on closing the market on Friday evening, as is his usual custom, and nothing of value was abstracted from the office. He is of opinion that no hams or other meats were taken.
The thieves effected an entrance by cutting the screen of the heavy rear door, which had been recently installed. An iron chain fastening the door with a padlock was wrenched from its fastenings, probably by a crowbar.
This is the third time the market has been burglarized in recent years, but on neither occasion was any money stolen. The firm's cash is banked each afternoon, and money taken in after that hour is not left in the market.
There exists little clue to the identity of the thieves, but a well-grounded suspicion is entertained regarding them.
