Rain to the amount of 1.05 inches fell on Monday night, bringing the total for the season, according to Mr. Dickel's gauge, to 4.91 inches. Last season to date, 4.29.

An offer of $30,000 is said to have been made this week for the Deutsch property at the corner of Center and Lemon streets. Mr. Deutsch is said to have placed the price at $70,000.

Mrs. Roy Hilton of Needles, Mrs. Harley Payne of Los Angeles and Miss Pauline Nemetz who is teaching school in the same city, are spending the Christmas holidays with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. Ne metz.
The Toggery has a new front door, which gives Whitaker & Morgan a better chance to display the new toys in the front window. The boys are getting a neckhold on business, and are both expansionists from Expansionville.
Edward Pagel of Montana returned to this city this week after a week's absence in Los Angeles. Mr. Pagel is a guest of Bert Simpson. He is in receipt of letters from home telling of extreme cold weather throughout the northwest. He will probably remain in Southern California until spring, when he will go to Montana, where he has large stock and corporation interests.

Freddie Ahlborn, the three-year-old son of Capt. and Mrs. Ahlborn, suffered the fracture of the left arm above the wrist one morning last week, while going over to call upon his grandmother, who lives next door. He mounted the rear steps and was about to open the screen door when the wind blew the door shut, which caused the little lad to lose

Company E entertained at a big feed and smoker at the armory on Thursday evening. A number of young recruits have been elected to membership, and twelve others have announced their intention of joining. The company is getting ready for annual inspection next month, and will drill twice each week. The boys say they intend to maintain the company’s high standard of being one of the crack companies of the Seventh.
Santitos Carrisosa who was two weeks ago sentenced by Judge Howard to six months’ imprisonment for creating a disturbance in Ruiz’s poolroom was on Thursday released from custody by Superior Judge West on a writ of habeas corpus. Williamis & Rutan of Santa Ana appeared in court for Carrisosa and showed that his sentence had been improperly imposed. Judge West held that the commitment was not sufficiently explicit, in that it did not specify the owner of the premises where the misdemeanor was alleged to have been committed. Carrisosa had served ten days in the county jail.
C. H. Sleffel and wife of Norton, Kansas, who spent five weeks with relatives here, departed on Friday for Brownsville, Texas, where Mrs. Sleffel will spend some time with her sons residing there. Mr. Sleffel goes to Kansas City to attend to business matters, and will return to Brownsville, after which he and his wife will tour Mexico before going to Kansas. They are traveling for Mrs. Sleffel’s health, which has been greatly improved by her stay in this city. Mr. Sleffel stated before his departure that he liked Anaheim better than any place seen on his travels, and he remained here longer than at any other place. He will come here again next fall, and friends say he will come with a view to locating. He is a man of large wealth and indications point to his becoming a resident here before long. Before leaving he said he would like to own property here.

C. L. Horton of Los Angeles has purchased from Wm. Wagner thirty acres on the east side, for $8500. He will devote his attention to raising poultry and vegetables for his Los Angeles restaurant.
Frank Nemetz will move his second-hand store into the new Borchard building east of the water office in a few days. The house now occupied by him at the corner of Center and Emily will be moved to make way for the new Royer block, work upon which will begin early in the new year.

Freddie Ahlborn, the three-year-old son of Capt. and Mrs. Ahlborn, suffered the fracture of the left arm above the wrist one morning last week, while going over to call upon his grandmother, who lives next door. He mounted the rear steps and was about to open the screen door when the wind blew the door shut, which caused the little lad to lose his balance, and he fell to the ground, a distance of two or three feet, breaking his arm as stated. The fracture was immediately reduced,and the bright little lad is getting along as well as could be expected.

S. Lybarger has employed O. Lagman to draw up plans and specifications for a frame residence to be erected on the corner of Lemon and Broadway streets. The building will be one and a-half stories, containing large living room, four bedrooms, paneled dining room, cabinet kitchen, porches, halls, closets, etc. It will be heated by hot air furnace from basement, and all to be equipped with the best modern plumbing, and when completed will cost about $3000. The exterior design is a combination of Southern California architecture.

Jake Kline, Stuart Cargill and several others were hunting in the Capistrano hills the other day. While seeking game Jake came across an inoffensive-looking square box; his curiosity was at once aroused; he overturned the box to look under; a swarm of bees appeared. The boys say Jake broke the record in making his getaway, yelling, “bees, bees.”
Special preparation is being made at the Methodist church for next Sunday’s services. The pastor, Rev. Mr. Moore, will speak both morning and evening, using as his subject for the morning service, “The Evangel of Love.” In the evening, “Christmas Stories,” interspersed by special musical selections by the choir, assisted by the S.P.C., Sunbeam Chorus, Miss Louisa Paschall, F. P. Jayne and Mr. Goodale.
