CITY GETS LOW PRICED OIL
1500 BARRELS ORDERED FOR STREET SPRINKLING
Cement Sidewalks and Curbs Ordered on South Lemon, West Broadway, Topeka and Atchison Streets — New 100-Candle Power Lights
The board of city trustees met on Thursday evening with Trustees Rust, Fiscus, Stock, Kroeger and Gates present.
Superintendent of Streets Steadman reported water connections made for Mrs. Rosa Susmil, at her new residence on Melrose street and for the California Folding Crate company. The street smoother was reported to have been at work on Lemon and Palm streets, leveling the high places and smoothing the wrinkled front of those thoroughfares. The water issuing from the rain spout at Mrs. Warner's barn was pronounced by the health board to be pure and the spout was not ordered taken out.
Engineer-Lewis made report advising the salary of Phil Germain, an employee at the power-house, be raised from $60 to $65 per month. The raise was accordingly made.
The finance committee reported approval of demands against the city amounting to $75.97.
The special committee on amending license ordinance were discharged reporting no changes were necessary.
Two dollars and a half was ordered refunded to A. Fuhrberg, the same being an error in street cleaning.
Attorney Spencer reported in the matter of opening Lemon, Palm and Citron streets south, holding the city had no title to the ground, the party offering to deed the same to the city many years ago not being the owner.
A letter was received from Emil B. Dreyfus, refusing to give the city nine feet of land for opening an alley south of Center street, from
RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 79.
A resolution declaring it to mention of the Board of Trustees City of Anaheim to order crossings, cement curbs and crossings to be constructed portions of South Lemon Street Broadway Street, Topeka St Atchison Street in said City.
The Board of Trustees of Anaheim, State of California by resolve and declare that interest and convenience result that it is the intention of Board of Trustees to order work to be done, to wish:
1. That a cement sidewalk in width, and a cement curb constructed on the East side of mon Street in said City be Street and Santa Ana Street along such portions of the line of South Lemon Street a cement sidewalk and cement already been constructed to cial line and grade.
2. That a cement sidewalk in width and a cement curb constructed on the North side way Street in said City be Street and Helena Street, from line of Helena Street to the line of Palm Street.
3. That a cement sidewalk in width and a cement curb constructed on the East side Street in said City, from line of Chartres Street to line of Center Street; that the alley crossings 13 feet in wid structured on the East side of peka Street, between Chartres Street Streets the center line said crossings being 136.50 of the South line of Chartres the center line of the other crossings being 135.25 feet No North line of Center Street.
4. That a cement sidewalk in width and a cement curb constructed on the West side of Street between Chartres and Streets, in said City, from line of Chartres Street to line of Center Street, and t ment curb be constructed on side of Atchison Street between Streets Street to Broadway St the South line of Chartres St North line of Center Street, the South line of Center St North line of Broadway Streets.
All of the work herein deserves be done in accordance with profiles and cross-sections thereof duly adopted by said Trustees and on file in the Clerk of said City, andiance with the specifications in Ordinance No. 162 of said

Committee on extension of city limits was granted further time.
Bids for 1500 barrels of crude oil for street sprinkling were opened as follows:
Brown & Dauser Co. 97 cents f.o.b. Los Angeles.
Union oil company, 13 degree, 95 f.o.b. Los Angeles; 12 degree, $1 f.o. b. Los Angeles; freight to Anaheim, 9 3-4 cents per barrel.
Tarr & McComb, failing to enclose certified check, their bid of $1.14 f.o. b. Anaheim was not considered.
Lapp, Gifford & Co., 85 cents per barrel, f.o.b. Los Angeles.
Associated oil company, 91 cents f.o.b. Anaheim.
The bid of the latter company, being the lowest, was accepted.
Deeds for strips land for widening south Palm and south Los Angeles streets were received from John Regler, Charles Dussourt, Max Nebelung, August Steincke and Godfrey Betz. The same were accepted and ordered placed on record.
Attorney Spencer was instructed to prepare a resolution of intention for securing necessary land to widen south Los Angeles street. Deeds have already been received from all but two property owners.
A communication was received from the superintendent of the Southern Pacific stating the tracks on Thalia street have been removed by Mr. Carroll, but that the company would have removed them if the board desired had they not already been removed.
Plans were submitted by Engineer Steward for improvements on south Lemon street, Topeka, Atchison and Broadway streets.

Permission was granted Ganahl lumber company to construct cement sidewalks and curbs fronting their property on Topeka street, and the city engineer instructed to give line and grade.

John Resh, to alter concrete-store building on Center street, adding a second story, $575.
William Gerdes, to alter a frame building on south Los Angeles street $50.
Commissioners reported on widening of West Broadway. The report will be found elsewhere in this issue.
Bill for public library for wiring basement was accepted and placed on file. The bill amounts to $23.70.
Clerk Merritt was instructed to renew insurance on power-house.
Marshal Steadman reported Engineer Lewis would like to place one 100-candle power Tauston lamps on the corner of Claudina and Broadway and the corner of Lemon and Charles streets. He was instructed so to do.
Engineer Steward was instructed to establish grades on all streets, where the same has not already been established.
