Frank Wiggins Gives Details of the Week's Elaborate Entertainment—Prosperity Week Includes All of Southern California—Local Window Displays of Our Home Products
Editor Gazette.—In a previous letter we appealed to you for assistance in promulgating information in regard to the features of the celebration of "Prosperity Week" in Southern California. We are now asking for further aid in this line, to the end that all Southern California may be aroused to the importance of making this celebration a grand affair, of incalculable value to all of Southern California.
Enclose you will find a program of the prosperity week celebration in Los Angeles, which is to begin on Monday, November 16, and continue to Saturday, Nov. 21. We do not believe it will be considered too much to ask you to further urge people to remember to ask for home products during prosperity week, and to be satisfied with no other products but home products.
Also we would like to ask that you call the attention of your merchants to the desirability of making window displays of home products during prosperity week, and of using their space in their local papers for the advertising of home products exclusively.

Diamonds; Supremacy Belongs to Hartfield—Years of conscientious extensive selling have won for this house wide recognition as the foremost diamond institution of Orange county. The very fact that a diamond comes from Hartfield stands as unassailable proof of its value. You can not buy an imperfect diamond here at any price; such a thing never enters this house. Our prices can not be beaten. Perfect goods, lowest prices. B. Hartfield, Anaheim.

THE CELERY CROP
The celery movement for the present winter season is now well under way. Two and three carloads a day are going east from the Orange county celery fields, and the Pacific fruit express company expects to handle 100 cars in the month of November. Although the acreage is less than last year, the estimates compiled by A. M. Mortensen, southwestern manager for the Pacific fruit express, indicates that the total number of cars will be almost as great as last year from Southern California. This year only about 3000 acres of celery were planted, against 5000 acres last year. A large percentage of last year's crop however was destroyed by blight. The trouble was overcome this year by spraying, and the crop is said to be in excellent condition.
Last year about 1800 cars of celery were shipped from the Southern California fields, and about 200 cars from the northern district on the Sacramento river. This year Orange county will yield about 1750 cars from the 3000 acres, but there will be almost no celery in the north.
Besides the 100 cars to be shipped in November, it is expected that 500 cars each month will go to market in December, January and February, and the balance in the early spring months.
Southern California supplies a large portion of the celery eaten in the United States in cold weather.

PROSPERITY WEEK
In order to further educate the people of Southern California regarding the meaning of "prosperity week" what he possibilities of the proposition are, and how best to take advantage of it, all around the following facts will be of interest:
The prosperity week in Southern California originated by Miss Frances Holmes of Los Angeles, and promoted by the Los Angeles chamber of commerce, has taken a tremendous hold on the people of all the cities and towns in the southern end of the state, and so rapid has been the development of the plan, and so greatly has the idea been expanded, that not many people even now, have grasped the full significance of the thing.
It is nkown that there is to be a grand agitation of prosperity week in Los Angeles, beginning on Monday, Nov. 16, and lasting until Saturday night, Nov. 21. All Southern California is asked, of course, to take part in this agitation but beyond that is the proposition of setting aside this entire week for the one purpose of buying and booting Southern California products. It is anticipated that during this week merchants in Southern California will make window displays of the manufactured products of Southern California and advertise nothing but these products, and that no person in Southern California will think of buying anything made in any other part of the country during that week, when he or she can buy the same article made in Southern California.
