OUR CLIMATE THE BEST. Government Asked to Publish Humidity Along With Temperature. California temperatures have always been a subject of comment throughout the East and it is frequently stated that in certain parts of the state the thermometer registers much higher than in Eastern cities, with the assumption that there is consequent increase of discomfort. The comparison of humidities has never entered into these statements, notwithstanding the fact that California's humidity is so low that high temperatures are not so oppressive in California as much lower temperatures in other states. This fact has induced the California Promotion committee to take the matter up in such manner as will tend to show the world that the climate of California is beyond compare, by having the humidity published in the regular daily reports of the Weather Bureau. In pursuance with this idea the following letter has been sent to the members of the California delegation in Congress: "It is desired to have published the humidity, as well as the temperature of some of the interior cities of California. This, you know, would be of advantage to the great interior valley as well as the cities. We want to have the figures shown for Fresno and Red Bluff, and it is requested that they be telegraphed to San Francisco daily, so they can be included in the weather report issued every twenty-four hours. As an illustration of the benefit that will follow the publication of this information, The Committee is advised that on a recent date, July 20th, the temperature at Fresno was..." want to have the figures shown for Fresno and Red Bluff, and it is requested that they be telegraphed to San Francisco daily, so they can be included in the weather report issued every twenty-four hours. As an illustration of the benefit that will follow the publication of this information, The Committee is advised that on a recent date, July 20th, the temperature at Fresno was 110 degrees, whereas the humidity registered only 9 degrees. When this is compared with some of the localities east of the Rocky Mountains, where, when the temperature is in the nineties, the humidity is in the seventies, the advantage of giving both the figures for California is at once apparent. The committee will appreciate your taking this matter up with the proper department at Washington in the endeavor to have the information given in the manner suggested. USE OF CALIFORNIA PRODUCTS Unique Lithographs Suggested for Inclusion in Fruit Packages. To encourage a more general use of California products throughout the world, and as a part of the broad campaign which the California Promotion Committee has instituted along these lines, the committee will address a letter to the handlers of California fruit, the packers, dryers, canners, exchanges, etc., suggesting that there be included in every package of fruit that is shipped to market an attractive lithographed display card to be placed in the show windows of the dealers. The suggestion is that the lithographs be unique and catchy and say something not only about the fruit itself, but about the places where the fruit is grown. In this way not only the product but the entire state will be advertised, and it will be but natural for the consumer to long for an opportunity to see with his own eyes the land that is the home of the Lucullan products of which he has become so fond for which he will accept no substitute. The committee has looked into the possibilities of publicity along this line very extensively. It is reported CATARRH ELY'S CREAM BALM Sure to Give Satisfaction. CIVES RELIEF AT ONCE.
