Mark Sells who was some months ago run into by a Southern Pacific freight train at Benedict and severely injured has brought suit against the company for $10,000 damages. He has recently discarded his crutches, which were made necessary by a dislocated hip. He has employed Arthur G. Baker to defend him. Sells was driving across the track at Benedict when a freight train approached, as he says, without giving the usual warning, and a collision occurred. His wagon was demolished, his horses ran away and he was knocked unconscious to the ground. He was carried to the home of a neighbor. The train did not stop.

Mr. Burdorf will open a street through his orchard tract, leading into Fullerton. John is an optimist relative to weather and is of opinion we shall have a plenty of wetness during the season.
