Electric Railway
During the week a lively discussion of the proposed electric line from Huntington Beach to this city has ensued, and from every side come favorable reports concerning the probability of securing right of way as well as grading the roadbed. Orchardists along the route southwest of town are enthusiastic in their support of the enterprise. One is quoted as saying that he will pay for the building of a mile of the road should it pass his property.
Among well-informed circles it is said that Pacific Electric surveyors may be looked for in the immediate future for the purpose of running preliminary lines.
The local chamber of commerce having resolved to meet conditions suggested by Huntington Beach, it is thought the matter will be referred to the railway company, and advices are looked for within a few days.
Placentia and Fullerton are taking an interest in the line and interesting developments are looked for within a few days.

LOCAL EVENTS
J. B. Neff, R. H. Gilman and Chas. S. Miles were in the superior court on Tuesday to answer to a summons in the Anderson Barngrover raid upon walnut growers of this county. Mr. Neff was summoned to appear with the stock books of the local association, in order that suits might be brought against individual stockholders. Messrs. Gilman and Miles were expected to give evidence to accelerate the raid upon Fullerton and Placentia growers. It is understood that these growers handed the attorneys for the raiders a good-sized lemon. Their depositions were given, but Mr. Neff's stock books failed to be forthcoming. Walnut growers throughout the county are standing as a unit against paying tribute to the San Jose men.
Mrs. I. Asher returned last evening from Germany, after a three-months' absence. She was attended on her trip by two sisters and a brother-in-law, Miss Hilda Harris and Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Anker of San Bernardino. They returned with her, going to their homes in that city. Theo. Easterly, who played ball on the local ground last season with Olinda, was the hero of the game between Los Angeles and Oakland in the Angelic burg on Sunday. Easterly played behind the bat. The Oaklanders at first were of opinion they could steal second on him, but the Downey kid very splendidly put this notion out of their heads. In the eleventh inning, with the score tied at 2 to 2, Easterly sent the ball to the fence for a two-bagger. This scored the winning run. Seven thousand people cheered him to the echo, and $47 in silver coins were hurled at him.
James Nelson, a graduate of the Anaheim high school in '05, has just returned after a year's absence in north-western Nevada, where he was in the employ of the Southern Pacific. He will attend Occidental college. He says the Western Pacific railroad has a large gang of men tunneling through the mountains for its road to the coast. This tunnel work will require another year. The Western Pacific, he states, is laying a very substantial roadbed and using heavy steel.

As an additional test one of these
