Water Board Anaheim, Cal., July 6, '07. Regular meeting of the Board of Directors of the Anaheim Union Water Company with a full board present. The secretary reported that certain papers which must be copied into the records of last meeting had been returned to him only yesterday and that owing to the great length of them it had been impossible to have the minutes completed for reading at this meeting. On motion the secretary was given further time in which to write up the said minutes. The reports of the Finance committee, the secretary and the treasurer were each in turn received and filed. The following report of the Superintendent was received and on motion duly made and seconded the superintendent was commended for his excellent work in making the pipe line connecting the Yorba Reservoir with the Anaheim ditch. A communication from Superintendent Porter asked leave of absence from August 4th to the latter part of August. On motion of Kraemer the application of Mr. Porter was granted. A second communication from Supt. Porter asked that in view of the general advance in wages, the high expense of living, the extra expenses connected with his duties, and the continually increasing amount of work and responsibility devolving upon him that his wages be raised to $120 per month. On motion duly made and seconded the application of Supt. Porter was granted. A communication from H. C. Kellogg referring to a proposed right of way which had been referred to him was received and filed. A communication from Vic Montgomery enclosed a deed for a right of way. Gentlemen:—The past finished cleaning Cajon main canals, and report a running order. I have an Anaheim main canal for half mile below end of ditch. C. Kellogg referring to a proposed right of way which had been referred to him was received and filed. A communication from Vic Montgomery enclosed a deed for a right of way. Moved by Hale, and duly seconded, that the secretary be instructed to notify Mr. Montgomery that the company will not accept any other deed than that sent to him by the company's attorney, and that the secretary return the deed sent to the company by him. Carried. A communication from C. Paulsen asked the privilege of putting in a gate in the company's ditch adjoining his place. On motion the desired privilege was granted Mr. Paulsen provided he bear all the expense and the work be done under the supervision of our superintendent. On motion the action of the president and secretary in drawing a warrant to pay the interest on the outstanding bonds of the company was approved. A communication from A. H. Bastes offered to do the usual amount of work, et cet, provided our pipe line was continued to the north line of his ranch. Referred to the ditch committee with power. A communication from J. S. Johnson asked that while the company is putting in the pipe already authorized, that there also be put in 128 feet of additional pipe, the same to be done at his expense. The request of Mr. Johnson was on motion granted. Applications on file for the transfer of stock were granted. The secretary reported that on behalf of the company he had purchased one share of the stock of J. M. Geib at the delinquent sale. On motion the secretary was authorized to transfer the stock back to Mr. Geib as soon as the said Geib shall have made good all expenses. J. M. Vall appeared before the board and explained that a 44 foot arch across Spadra road would be more suitable than the 60 foot arch already ordered, and suggested a change. one share of the stock of J. M. Geib at the delinquent sale. On motion the secretary was authorized to transfer the stock back to Mr. Geib as soon as the said Geib shall have made good all expenses. J. M. Vall appeared before the board and explained that a 44 foot arch across Spadra road would be more suitable than the 60 foot arch already ordered, and suggested a change. On motion it was decided to make the said arch 44 feet long. On motion of Hale, seconded by Bradford, it was resolved that a re-bonding committee be appointed to report at the next meeting. On motion the said committee was selected as follows: Hale, McLauchlin and Drake. On motion of Bradford, seconded by Kraemer, the president and secretary were authorized to issue the company's note in payment of money necessary to make up this month's deficit. On motion of Hale, seconded by Bradford, the pumping plant committee was instructed to move the engine back to the wells and install it as soon as possible. On motion the salary of the secretary of the company was fixed at $110 per month, he to pay out of the same the expense of whatever assistance he may find it necessary to employ.
