Two Wicked Cholos Two cholos from Los Alamitos are in jail here awaiting preliminary examination on Saturday on a charge which may land them in state prison. They were engaged in a carrousal at the sugar-factory town on Sunday, when Constable Juan Orosco attempted to place them under arrest. One of the cholos flashed a revolver in his face, while the other produced a razor, gesticulating with it wildly. The man announced his purpose of slashing off Orosco's nose. The other cholo said he intended making a sieve of Orosco's anatomy. Orasco executed a masterly retrograde movement, and later enfiladed the enemy which debouched upon the main thoroughfare of the beet town in riotous scenes of hilarity. Orosco tripped lightly about the two, like unto the cooper of commerce, pirouetting around a barrel, tapping first one of them on the head with the butt end of his revolver and then the other, impartially dealing out this treatment to each as he considered meet and proper. The drunken cholos were badly whipped and were subsequently brought into town and lodged in jail. Judge Howard will look into their cases on Saturday morning. Q. D.
