Duckworth Injunction Suit
Judge Walter Bordwell rendered a decision in the Duckworth suit in which he declines to dissolve the injunction. By the judge's order, receiver is to be appointed who shall receive $3000 to be paid by Whitaker & Co. for the Loara store. This receiver shall hold this $3000 until the case is finally determined. In the meantime J. W. Duckworth and his son, Guy L. Duckworth, are restrained from disposing of the dwelling house in which Guy Duckworth and his wife lived.
Judge Bordwell heard the argument and testimony on a motion to dissolve the injunction prohibiting the sale of the Loara store, complaint having been made that the elder Duckworth and the son were intrigued to keep from the wife of the son property that might be due her in a contention for alimony. The arguments were finished last week by H. C. Head, attorney for the wife, and Richard Melrose, attorney for J. W. Duckworth.
The decision states that J. W. Duckworth "purposely, intentionally and studiously" withheld information from the wife and her father, A. S. Cox, formerly mayor of Pasadena, concerning the whereabouts of Guy Duckworth. The court found that on February 12 Guy Duckworth deserted his wife and went to Honolulu where he is now supposed to be, and that on March 25 a child was born to Mrs. Duckworth. The judge finds that Guy Duckworth owned the store, and that it was the intention of the Duckworths to deceive the wife in selling the property, to defraud her in any effort she might make in a claim for support.
According to the conclusions of the judge, Whitaker & Co. in the purchase of the store was not a party to the scheme and is entitled to have its title go undisturbed. Hence the court will

According to the conclusions of the judge, Whitaker & Co. in the purchase of the store was not a party to the scheme and is entitled to have its title go undisturbed. Hence the court will treat J. W. Duckworth as acting as agent for Guy L. Duckworth in the sale of the store and as a trustee for those concerned. The court's order is that J. W. Duckworth be allowed to collect $2500 due from the purchasers of the store. The $3000 balance is to be paid over to a receiver to be held until the action is decided finally.
It developed at the hearing of the case that Guy Duckworth had been given a note payable in five years at six per cent by J. W. Duckworth in payment for the store.

Is This a Lesson to Learn?
The future of the Kelso looks as good as it did three weeks ago. She charged that he had offended her, and had written offensive epithets upon the wall of his room. The young man was shown at the trial to have borne an excellent reputation.
Union Strikes Hot Water
About three weeks ago J. W. Brackney, L. Cunningham, Mr. Robb, W. J. Woodruff and M. Barber were transferred from the Santa Fe lease here to that company's oil field near Ardmore, I. T., to drill one or two deep wells. When they arrived back there they found that it would be at least six weeks before the work could be commenced as the necessary machinery, etc., for deep drilling was not on hand. The deepest wells there are only 800 feet deep and are light producers, and the Santa Fe believes that if it puts a hole down to a depth of about 3000 feet it will strike a gusher or a big producer. If it is successful with the first deep hole a number of new wells will be drilled.
Mr. Barber is now in the east buying the apparatus for deep drilling and the work will be started in about a month; Mr. and Mrs. Brackney have returned to Fullerton and Mr. Brackney is again drilling here; Mr. Robb and family and Messrs. Cunningham and Woodruff have gone on east for a month's visit.
Tom Seine is acting as superintendent during the absence of Barber. Messrs. Brackney and Seine drilled the first deep well on the Santa Fe lease here six years ago. For months the well gushed from 10,000 to 15,600 barrels of oil daily, and for years it has been pumping over 1000 barrels every day.
The Union Oil Co. has struck hot water in its well northwest of town on the Bastanchury lease at a depth of about 1500 feet. Oil was first found at a depth of 1200 feet. Hot water was also struck at about the same depth in one of the big oil gushers on the Murphy lease about two miles west of the Union Co.'s well, and according to all indications a gusher may be brought in at any time after a depth of 2000 feet has been reached.—Fullerton Tribune.

to China the property appropriated through the exigencies of war are unfulfilled. In consequence of China is expressing much indignation what is considered a gross breach of faith. The recovery is conceived doubtful of a large amount of government and private property in various places in Manchuria, which appropriated by Japan without sensation, on the sole pretext that it had failed to observe neutrality following Russia to occupy these things, mines and land. This excludes not considered honest, because it is fully aware of China's help to enforce neutrality, while, in regard to abuse of neutrality considered equally guilty. Russia has much appropriated property, which has been leased to the Japanese but compensation to China.
