Brakeman Frasier of the local Santa Fe accommodation train was dangerously injured at Fullerton at 6 o'clock on Monday evening by striking his head against a mail crane. He was standing upon the car platform as his train was pulling out, looking toward the rear, when the accident occurred. He was knocked down and fell into the car, narrowly escaping being thrown under the car. It was at first thought he was fatally wounded. He was taken to the Santa Ana hospital. On Tuesday he showed signs of recovery, and yesterday word was given out that he would probably soon recover. Some months ago an engineer in employ of the same company was injured in similar manner here. He died as a result of his injuries.

New Walnut Association
ing of the Southern California Association, to be held in Los Angeles.
Walnut blossoms are now beginning to "set," and if the weather is favorable for the next few weeks, the crop promises to be larger than last year. Reports from Rivera and Whittler say that there will be a larger crop in these sections than last year if the weather is favorable.
Parasites Liberated
Messrs. Carnes and Maskew this week liberated several colonies of the newly imported parasite for red and purple scale in Wm. McLauchlin's orchard at West Anaheim. Other colonies will be liberated this week, and the work will be followed up and other colonies liberated in other orchards as fast as the flies develop.
As soon as the parasites are liberated they are temporarily lost sight of. Being of such microposcipal minuteness it is impossible to detect them with the naked eye. Examination of the pests will be made from time to time to ascertain the extent of the work upon them by their natural enemy.
It is confidently believed the parasites will immediately begin their work, and that good progress in scale extermination will be made.

Hale, C. C. Greenough, Clarence McFad- d George F. Miles. The organ- is to incorporate, will be a member of the Southern California station and will probably be known as Fullerton-Placentia Walnuters' Association. Mr. Maskew yesterday prepared an enlarged drawing of the parasite for the lithographer. His drawing was made from a fly under the microscope. The parasite is as yet unknown to scientists, and this is the first drawing ever made of one.
