Prof. Walker goes to Los Angeles Saturday to attend a meeting of the executive committee of the Southern California high school league. The committee will arrange for the championship debate between Anaheim and Pasadena high schools. These two schools stand, in the order named, at the head of the Southern California high school league. The question to be debated, as well as the time and place, will be selected. The affirmative and negative sides will also be assigned to the schools. The Stanford trophy and the silken banner will go to the winner of the debate, to be held for a year. Monrovia now holds them. For some reason Monrovia dropped out of the league this year. Election for school trustee will be held at the Central school house on Friday. The candidates are W. H. Spake and J. H. Enearl. Mr. Enearl is at present a member of the board. Mr. Spake has yielded to solicitations of many friends to become a candidate, and will if chosen fill the position with honor to himself and with credit to the district.
